You have to see it for yourself. This is your last chance. After this there is no turning back. You take the blue pill, the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.... Remember, all I'm offering is the truth, nothing more.... Follow me.... And the subarena settings should be restored! *glares at vile* Quote
Vile Requiem Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 http://www.ssforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=681 Everyone has a short memory That, and think about one simple fact: Unless one can convince Nurples the old settings are better, they will NEVER (repeat: never) return. I have nothing to do with pub, and i'm not going to cause a rift by making old settings standard for everything not pub. That would be utterly, incomprehendably, inconcievably re-*BAD WORD*-ed. I hope everyone got the jist of that, I didn't put enough empathesis on my points, i'm in a hurry Quote
KnightPhyre Posted October 18, 2003 Report Posted October 18, 2003 I'm sure this option has been brought up MANY MANY times, but I have yet to see it. Why not make a public 2 arena, identical to pub map now, with old ship settings? Let the zone make their choice by playing one or the other. Give it one month to make an accurate poll of usage per pub arena, and at the end of the month, use whichever ship settings the zone used most. Oh, SYSOPS, no point telling us we used to have that. 1. there was no one room that stayed up all the time, like "pub" now. Someone could type ?go oldmap and "make" one, but that doesn't exactly invite a lot of people in. 2. There would be no mods or sysops in the player-made "oldmap" room to, for lack of a better term, baby-sit. This means there is no official sanction. That, too, would not be conducive to a true poll of players wishes. I urge you guys to give this option consideration. This would stop most of the ship setting polls you're ignoring at present. I mean, come on..... you advertise this forum for players to post their opinions and help shape the zone. Well, let us shape the zone? It's obvious the majority of the speaking public want old settings. Why not consider it? I have outlined a safe way to do so. You have all your players still, give them a clear choice, use that choice to give the majority what they wish for. My two cents. Quote

You have all your players still, give them a clear choice, use that choice to give the majority what they wish for. My two cents. I totally agree with you. Its always best way to develop by letting the players choose because they know best. I have said this since they started changing things but staff just does theyre changes without asking any1 but themselves.Developing zone doesnt mean shaping OLD events to suit your own fantasies and it doesnt mean changing pubs ship settings to suit your own fantasies. If you really want to develop, make new events like staff used to do. Lets take for example EO's -*BAD WORD*- and Hostage events, he didnt want to put those ship settings on rumble arena or in pub, he just made new events with new ship settings, what so difficult about that? Please learn to respect old popular events and people that made them by leaving them be as they were. Please learn to respect players because they might have been in this zone much longer than you and they are not in spec all the time so they still have some touch to the settings and stuff. Quote
madhaha Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 http://www.ssforum.net/viewtopic.php?t=681 Everyone has a short memory Your previous post makes out that you abbandonned the idea but you'll notice that SOMEONE changed the subarenas anyway. I look at facts. Old jav has no particular advantage over new jav in events that I can see other than it being less accessible to new players and harder to train for due to the shortage of arenas. Perhaps you can point out some massive advantage that I've missed. Posts with "skilless", "lame" and "rox" will be ignored. Quote
Tempest Posted October 19, 2003 Report Posted October 19, 2003 Talion rox. Stop being lame, skilless newbie Quote

Vile Requiem Posted October 25, 2003 Report Posted October 25, 2003 Settings are currently off because the backup files are circa Zeke still being here. The fix is tomorrow night. If anyone messages me again about this they get violated by Dire's Father's Brother's Nephew's Cousin's Former Roommate in College. (AKA a ban for har!@#$%^&*ing staff) Quote
