Some time ago (maybe an year or more ago) Staff decided that pub should have different jav, this raised some discussion on forums. Most players thought that jav was the only good and balanced ship that actually needed some skill to master but anyways jav got changed to suit other ships. The old jav had been appreciated by players from rrl season 2 to the day it got changed.I actually don't have a clue what that jav in the rumble map is, it sure isnt the old jav. I don't know if there was any discussion about that rumble jav b4 so please fill me in on this.Its fine for me if pub players want to play with the new jav but atleast let us have the old jav in events. Rumble is an old popular event, please let it be like it was. If you want to play new events with new ship settings make new events and new ship settings but dont ruin the game from everyone. Then one little thing about rumble map. Rumble map was changed some time ago because the event was so popular back about 1-2 years ago. The goal was to make a bigger map so all the 50 or so players could fit in but it really now looks much smaller than the old one. The current rumble map is a vulching map, you hardly ever see fair 2v2 fights there (if there is more than 2 teams in). It also has these small places where to hide till you are full so you can backstab some1.Now rumble isn't so popular (propably because of the map and jav settings) as it was, so the old mavyns rumble map would be just fine for it, you would also see some fair 2v2 fights with skill there. You can check old jav settings and old rumble map at ?go mavyn. Would be cool if it got hosted some day so even new players could play in the old rumble map with old jav settings. PS. Mavyns rumble map isn't the first rumble map nor is the jav in there the first jav so don't get angry at me for calling then the "old" jav and rumble map. Fujins map with his jav is at ?go fujin. Also the bombsight on radar although this has been around for a long time. Either way its main advantage is it is extremely tough and manouverable with powerful guns (how many other ships can shrug off bombs and go instantly on the offensive?). NBV: Interesting. Strangely enough I play the new Jav much more than the old Jav. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? Probably a sure sign that Vile will want to screw it up. Quote

Is this how much you respect your players? That kind of -*BAD WORD*- works only because most of 17th players are newbs thanx to Staf*.Even the idea of cahnging jav in the first place came from staff, players had no problem with the old jav. The fact that most popular events are _jav events_ is because players really liked the ship. Deleting polls and changing settings without even telling people? tablet Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 From what I understand NBV told me exactly what Mike had said, that Mike had changed back the pub jav to the old jav w/o notifying anyone to see if anyone would notice. Now as I was told by pern that the jav in alll arenas (pub and event arenas) is the same in speed and agility, but the dmg settings are different. After hearing this, I think the jav handles exactly the same in all arenas and seems to be different in dmg settings, further proving what pern told me. Only if i were to see the settings myself could i prove what exactly is different in the javs, but until then we won't know until a sysop can tell exactly whats different. As for old ships. I agree that the old shipsettings should be brought back. I also loved the old terrier and i cant stand the new one (personally i think new terrier was only good in sbl multi). Old Levi rocked and the old Weasel kicked major -*BAD WORD*- (turret killa ). On the topic of change, does anyone besides me miss the old north-south bases and the safe-wars? Personally i think the old bases rocked cuz only if you timed all the doors correctly could you fly through it w/o the ball timer running out. i think thats a real base, not this small simple tubing crap we call our base today. A base that had a REAL maze and is long is fun, makes soccer games longer and bases easier to defend. Well im done for now, reply please Quote

Rotation speed is much higher in the fake jav too imo. (im not gonna talk about bullet cost, recharge rate or bullet damage now)Well these are not facts, it just feels like that. Quote
