problem is fixed with a restart but how can i lose mote the 100%?

nope, i've seen worse... even worse than that AND negative ploss. The explanation I've been given is that the client will push the same packets (not all packets, but certain required ones, like position) multiple times if they are lost. Not only are you dropping the first packet, but the second and possibly 3rd (I'm not sure how many times it will try to push the packet until it gives up on it).

100% ploss = you drop all your packets on their first trip.

200% ploss = you drop the redundant (2nd) packets as well.

No, Bargeld. Your explanation is wrong. The only part that was correct was that negative packetloss can indeed go any numbers but the plain fact of the matter is that it is impossible to get over 100% (positive!) loss without using imaginary numbers in the calculation.

That leaves two possibilities:

a ) The packetloss calculating algorithm is broken. (Very unlikely)

b ) Some freak accident/bug/cosmic ray caused the counter to become corrupt or a wrong counter to be used. (The only possibility left)

(Also, to nitpick, position packets are just about the only packets that are not re-sent) (And secondly, 100% loss includes all re-sent packets, there is no "first packet only" restriction on the counter)

You mean why you get negative packetloss? Basically, it means some router along the way is screwed in the head and is sending out more pcakets than come in.

Nothing to worry about, really. S2C negative packetloss might overflow 56k users, but in general it causes no bad effects.

i fully understand what you are saying and i also understand its true but in Desert Storm we see alot of players with -15% and they spike and/or eat horibly with 15% so not totaly true i think?

haha i understand was stoned when i typed that... ok leme do it again.

there is just said that negative ploss doesnt give bad affects, but in Desert Storm we see players with negative ploss alot and they eat-spike and all the other things that laggots do. How can this be posible if negative ploss doesnt give bad affects?

Because -30 + 10 is -20 :D

In other words, you can have both positive and negative packetloss at the same time! But only one will show up (whichever is greater, minus the other).

Either that or they're ok 56k blum.gif Either that or you're misinterpreting what are "lag effects" and what are not, like many people seem to do.

UPDATES:

i think this is a bug, i encouterd it a 2nd time BOTH when my usage exceeds 55 - 58 hours for the session.

Since then its dropped to 140% at 68 - 70 hours.

Ill maintain the session and update (may provide sme insight)
