not loading up

i just downloaded subspace yesterday and now i cant load up the actual game. The starting options stays red and i dont know what to do

can someone please help me.

Does the trace button give you a working trace (does a list of stuff show up in that window)?

 

Do you have a firewall? Try without it.

 

Are you using AOL with parental controls? Disable them.

yes - the zones are all red, and I do get a working trace. However, my firewall allows subspace, and I don't have AOL. It was working before, but has now just stopped working.

 

Does ne1 have ne other ideas?

Short answers seem to be all the rage these days, eh?

 

What Bargeld means is that if you only had SSCX servers in the list (unlikely) then they'd be red.

 

Can you download the zone list again?

 

Seems to me like a firewall or something is not letting through some of Continuum's connections. It lets the trace through but not normal gameplay. Contact your ISP. Ask them whether they have recently blocked UDP traffic (the game uses UDP for playing but another type for trace, which is why one might work).
