Delic Posted January 20, 2006 Report Posted January 20, 2006 Anyone ever listen to music while going to sleep? I use to listen to music while before and during sleeping but then I wouldn't fall asleep anymore so I just listen to music before I go to sleep and then turn it off and go to sleep.Except not long ago when I came home from the club totally wasted and put on my Makaveli CD. I remember hearing like 1-2 songs and then falling asleep with the music going on. What do you listen to before going to sleep? (If you do.) Quote
larrythehamster Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Whatever CD happens to be within reaching distance... Quote
SeVeR Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Sleep by the Dandy Warhols is a good one.... naturally. Classical music is also good. Almost anything by Chopin works because he does the best gentle piano music. I wonder if listening to music affects the dream state? I always seem to get outside noises affecting my dreams because i usually sleep until about 2pm. Its certainly an interesting subject because it may become possible to completely manipulate a persons dreams based on external noise... Quote
X`terrania Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 Whenever i'm going to bed I always turn on the radio right behind me, usually to the rock and soft rock station of our city. If i'm really in a good mood i'll put on Leonard Cohen and fall asleep to that. Quote

Samapico Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I've heard that listening to music while sleeping isnt very good for sleep... because there would be a part of the brain that would not really sleep while still 'listening' to the music.. or something.. might be BS tho Quote
redhotchilipeppers_chick Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Anything and everything, i usually turn on my mp3 player and play all at random.I rarely listen to music before sleeping, though. Quote
Canadian-Kid Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 your all gonna go stupid in the head listening to your garbage, why not listen to real art instead? classical music is the best for listening while going to bed. Quote
The Cubbies Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Don't be ignit. Tell me what makes classical music so special? It's old? People used to listen to it a lot? Don't get me wrong, I like classical, but I don't feel it has any super powers just cause people in the 1500's would listen to it. Quote
Trip' Posted January 23, 2006 Report Posted January 23, 2006 Believe it or not, the only sleep music ive ever listened to was by the Foo Fighters, the 2nd CD of In Your Honor. It worked too, was completely amazed. Quote
SeVeR Posted January 24, 2006 Report Posted January 24, 2006 Why is it whenever i post in a thread it gets trashed? Quote

GhettoSmurf Posted January 26, 2006 Report Posted January 26, 2006 i used to listen to TRUSTcompany when trying to sleep, all there gentle yelling soothed me or somethin. then i got bored of the one cd they had, and didnt really like their new one so i started listening to dashboard confesionals or some other boring band...now i cant really put myself to sleep with music and use nyquil Quote
RandomNPC Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 might have to try that...just how much nyquil do u use??personally, ive found smoking does plenty to help me sleep, but maybe cold medicine deserves a try Quote
GhettoSmurf Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 i just take like, the amount you would put in the cap if you're really sick. do that whenever you start gettin ready for bed, and i'm usually pretty drowsy when i get in bed...although i'm starting to think it might be more psycological than anything else... Quote
RandomNPC Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 i might try that, for now i'll stick to smokin at the end of my "getting ready for bed" time. anyway, been listening to The Shins lately to sleep Quote
