Zero-51 Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I used Facts to make a bmp of a tileset from a map I had. And I edited the bmp in photoshop. I don't know what to save the bmp as, I try saving as indexed and it messes up the tiles(makes small lines at the top.). I just want to know if any of you could help me.
★ SOS Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 Yes, Photoshop messes up BMP tilesets. Basically, they need a certain amount of colors (256, I think) in the color table but Photoshop optimizes them away if you use indexed colours. I've had partial success with manually setting 256 colors but I haven't really experimented with this a lot. Try another program maybe?
★ Maverick Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 I used to resave the .bmp inside paint to get the correct format, this method worked quite well. Zero-51 Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 I figured it out. You have to have a copy and the original. Leave the original as indexed color, and copy can change to RGB color. whenever you make a change, just copy paste to the original from the copy, and save as normal. This works for me.
