Armenek Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Simply solution: Contact with tech support of your product. I'm using Panda Platinum 2006 TruPrevent, and the problem is something related to TruPrevent which seems to detect Continuum as a dangerous program. Panda users, try to disable "Protection against unknown attacks" (I'm a spanish user, so I don't know how do they call it in english ), and reboot your comp. Try to start Continuum and voilà , it starts.I've been in touch with Panda Labs and they have just told me that with Monday's update (in my case, don't know how much will they last to send the update around the world) the problem should be fixed I'll tell you what happens on Monday. To the users of other products, again, contact with your tech support and until they don't fix the problem, annoy them with it (like me, lol, I've my gmail account plenty of panda tech support mails).PD: I've to add I'm a Windows XP user with SP2 and I'm using XP style, etc. without any special settings.
»SOS Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 Excellent news In the past some vendors have not been very interested in making it work, but this is good I'll add the advice to the FAQ soon
Armenek Posted January 17, 2006 Author Report Posted January 17, 2006 Hmmm... they're still working on it
Armenek Posted February 8, 2006 Author Report Posted February 8, 2006 Good newwsss!!!. They sent to me a patch, and it worked!. Now I have all protections of Panda Platinum IS 2006 switched on, and Continuum starts ok . Ask them for it (I don't know if it will be worldspread).Wow, how much time did they need (They sent the patch today)
Bargeld Posted February 9, 2006 Report Posted February 9, 2006 It's been previously determined that it is not the anti-virus's fault that continuum won't start. It is continuum's fault that it is detected as malicious. The proper solution is to fix continuum rather than try to get all of the world to recognize and support it. I'm glad it worked for you, you have had better success than most in dealing with the anti-virus company. Usually they will tell you to work with the tech support of the offending application (which is why everyone with this problem ends up here.)
»SOS Posted February 18, 2006 Report Posted February 18, 2006 Nobody can, which is why this is indeed great news

IceKan Posted February 20, 2006 Report Posted February 20, 2006 Can either of you forward it to icekan@icenetwork.co.uk seen as I tried asking Panda and they sent me some crap about resetting the firewall settings (looks a standard !@#$%^&* response). Although you can fix it 'per session' by going to Administrative Tools -> Services and stopping the service "Pands TPSrv" followed by logging off and then back on again. That'll last until you next restart bug it will mean the Panda won't have protection against unknown threats, although it's really only a temporary fix until you install the patch.

They probably will search if there's some devoloped patch...By this way they are obligated to work on their product
IceKan Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 They're maintaining they've never heard of it, can you not upload it somewhere accessible?
Armenek Posted February 22, 2006 Author Report Posted February 22, 2006 Here you can download the patch Note: You MUST have version 10.01.02 (minimum) of Platinum IS 2006. Extract the content and rename the file with a .exe extension, execute it and voilá, Continuum now working =)
spedhead Posted February 25, 2006 Report Posted February 25, 2006 gg i was gona say kill your anivirus but if that works yay

Yeah you know how much fun calling Tech Support can be. heh. They are helpful, i had to call for my xbox b4, but ive always heard crazy stories sometimes from tech support, Support that gets you farther away, form the support you needed. . O boy. But i really give props to that place, doing that for this silly game we all play.
