Perhaps the coders of that lag bot in EG can help with this request. I have for about the last year had nothing but problems connecting to Extreme Games zone. The issue only and I stress Only exists with the extreme games zone, all other zones there are no problems, like TW etc. I recently ran a udb packet analysis from my pc to the EG server while connected to the game. The bandwidth required to play in eg is about 3kb max as the game was designed back in the modem days. The analysis showed me that there were no dropped packets but I still could not play. The lag bot simply thinks there is player lag so it specs you from the zone. I dont know who coded this but to do a analysis of udb packets in real time is tricky, if the lag bot uses TCP via ping it is still tricky to do in real time as it consumes computing resources. Add 70 players and the processing time gets worse. That bot is causing serious pain in the zone. Trench Wars does not have one, why does it exist in eg ? I have played EG for a very long time since the early 2000's and people have told me many times that they cant play so they gave up. During a big game folks just get random specced for no reason too including myself.... that just makes you want to go somewhere else, it also has a negative impact on the zone because if people are getting random specced or cant play then the zone dies. Currently population in EG is at an all time low and it continues to drop. We honestly need for someone that is actually running the servers to take a look at this. The mods in EG are clueless as to how to fix it. As a first step would it be possible to just remove the bot and see how things go ?. If anyone needs for me to do tests from this end to help resolve the issue I will be glad to assist.
