Hoch and SSC have been pretty clear about their stance in this situation. Right now we can only wait and see how things unfold. Measures are being taken by the appropriate people within the DSB community. All we can say for sure is that DSB won't vanish from SubSpace altogether as Hoch wants it to.

It would cause a major inconvenience to switch to a completely new server though. We've seen how other zones actually died doing that, so if that can be avoided it would be good. Then there's also the issue of who would get to make the new zone, because there's more than just one group who can and would want to start it back up. Therefore it would be in the best interest of the players and hence the SS community if the council intervened and let us manage the zone as it is. Sign the petition ;P

This is a very selfish decision which SSC should not allow. DSB is still one of the major zones in SubSpace that is keeping the game alive The most tragic part about this is that DSB itself has the potential to revive itself. There's been plenty of good ideas to make that happen... DSB is suffering from the same thing that so many other great zones suffered: mismanagement.

I was in kent squad for like a day. Same with 4U>All squad. But I don't think I was in pie squad.

i miss trench center, best subspace related stuff ever. specially pearl jam's comments and skits mixed humor with league reports, good stuff I'd listen to a subspace radio. If it's not against zone rules, you should advertise big zones' chats.

A command that lists the squads you own would be nice... But I guess it would be too spammy in some cases =P

Ok. It's just a hassle to get people to update them just so they can add a zone (and people are newbies / lazy). But from what you're telling me I guess it's always been like this... if so I never noticed it.

Does anyone know if the old directory servers are down for good or wäsä? Any news on this?

AA isn't really that bad overall. As someone mentioned, these things happen with every airline. I'd say you were unlucky. Never hurts to milk off the situation though, let me know if you got that first class =D Or at least ask for a full ticket worth of voucher.

It's happening to Vulcan now too, and he was actually in the zone when it started (got disconnected and unable to get back). I've never seen or heard of it only happening for 10 minutes. Anything from days to years like Sama said, but yeah it does show those symptoms.

For several years now certain players have been unable to connect to the server for some reason. err I got no details atm, but I know Sama said it's happening to him too now. I just know that the zone remains green on the list but when they try to connect I think it says "unable to connect to server" or something. Just thought I'd spark a discussion to see if anyone can figure it out. Sama, any info? I'll probably try to fill in later if Sama doesn't.

I've been hoping for something like this for awhile (hmm I think I said this last time around too). I hope this will be based on talk shows.. Maybe reports on league matches from different zones? (like what TW had with Trench Center, but SubSpace-wide!) Based on my experience, I can say that it's very hard to please listeners when it comes to music since people have very different tastes and preferences, and are very vocal about their own. With talk shows it's more universal and interesting, specially if there's cultural variety between the hosts (it's always fun to throw in a random Finn; the Finnish accent never fails to amuse!) I hope this takes off this time!
