You can't choose a team, unless there is some bug being exploited to do so. To my knowledge all you can do is spec or be speccedand ?flag, hoping the balancer puts you on the team you want. Idk how the balancer works. I'm guessing by number of players, but that doesn't always seem to be the case. I've played fgs where it was 7vs4, specced to balance (I was on winning side so I don't think that's cheating) and was put back on the winning team. After about 3 attempts it finally worked. So idk. The balancer is a mysterious force of hs.

kind of like assuming a car crash at all times and your reaction time. It may help to assign repel to a single key if you're never fast enough.
