1.) Aye, it takes some getting used to, but I quite enjoy the experience. 2.) Clone the "default" keyboard profile within the game, check the "joystick/gamepad" box, and then map some keys against buttons on the gamepad (select a function, then press the target button on the pad). I purchased a Logitech F710 (link) and its worked "out of the box" without needing to install any funky Logitech software. I am using this with a Win7 Ultimate (x64) installation, and thus its using the xBox controller driver. I realize this is an "old" thread, but wanted to report recent positive experience on this topic. :-)
