  1. Cool, thanks for that. I understand the thought experiment behind the rolling dice. Everything else you touched on I am still learning, especially quantum fields. Correct me if I am wrong, but I understood that space, although seeming like a vacuum is actually full of virtual particles which give space a "substance". Therefore, if an object is large enough to have a gravitational field, it bends the space by influencing the quantum particles in space. Is that correct? However, please take a look at this image. I have seen this many times but where it baffles me is that space and time is portrayed as a plane. That curvature would be evident around all sides of the objects correct? So kind of like a bubble underneath water? http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-WvqOZtV1DrQ/UYZwBWTwuAI/AAAAAAAAAu0/Ra5pUWfJP9Y/s1600/spacetime.bmp I was an art/philosophy student in High School and in University so I definitely missed out. I am learning physics now because it has become the coolest thing in the universe in recent weeks. Can someone please answer this ?!!! It's driving me nuts.

  3. You are basically touching on Quantum Mechanics here if I am not mistaken, so.... do particles suddenly appear and vanish inside our bodies or does that only happen in the vacuum of space and why? I learned that the ratio of unstable particles to stable particles is 1 to 100 million... so all the matter that we see is literally 1 millionth of the particles that are possible... However, that still leaves me a bit dumbfounded. Particles appearing and vanishing from space sounds pretty unstable to me... and yet we can stand on solid ground as we hurdle through space.... how can space, being so volatile and unpredictable hold our solar system in place?
  4. Okay, so Einstein's General Theory of Relativity was confirmed by observing the stars that surround the sun's corona from our perspective here on Earth. Einstein theorized that Gravity is strong enough to bend time and space and this was evident by how the light of the stars in question bent around the Sun, as is passed behind the sun into our lenses here on the planet. Here is where I am getting a bit of a mind f*ck. I thought space was a vacuum. How can a vacuum bend or change shape? We are not rolling around on a flat table top. Space is all encompassing and 3 dimensional. Does the space bend around objects in all 3 dimensions? Wouldn't that mean that we are "swimming" or "held" in place by some sort of "matter"? Once again, how can there be any matter holding us in place in a place in a vacuum??
  5. Woohoo!
  6. "Schleps" LOL I was in NY recently and heard that word a lot, pretty hilarious.
  7. Nice work on the site. Maybe incorporate Bootsrrap for Responsive features? nice use of font awesome, I dig the menu. Are you a JS developer? I am really excited for Powerball league, owning your team last weekend proved to be more thrilling than I care to say.... looking to do it again
  8. Create an exception in avast for SS. I use it and have no issues.
  9. Good reviews, although I feel you missed the mark in certain places due to your absence.
  10. Wow. Looks like you worked very hard on this. Congrats on the project, I look forward to testing the final product.

  12. I'd say there is a slew of players above Three. Overall, I thought OZN made some excellent points and offered some good advise. I believe this is the most key thing he said: "I also said we spent years not playing as a team, not strategizing and just doing whatever we wanted. Finally we said enough is enough and focused on those things in order to develop a better team." One of my the most frustrating realities in this game is pilots fighting their own battles, engaging in solitary duels, and ignoring the team dynamic. If you watch some of the latest CM or Assassins matches, they stay in a tight pack/formation and alternate firing bombs. I don't understand why this is so difficult for lower tier teams to accomplish. The logic is simple, if you and a team mate fire 1 bomb each, the potential for damage and energy conservation is more beneficial than attempting to fire 2 bombs on your own. I have realized that in order to accomplish such a seemingly obvious feat is the necessity for focus. Intent concentration is needed to stay with the team as a whole. I have come up with a simple formula which I believe can achieve these results. 1. Recognize the two best players in the starting 4. Let's say it's Jack and Bob. 2. Assign 1 wingman to Jack, and 1 wingman to Bob. The job of each wingman will be to follow the lead of Jack and Bob. 3. Jack and Bob work on staying in formation with each-other. This will create a tightly packed form. Take it further by alternating firing bombs.. but I imagine that would require a lot more focus and skill. I have seen a few matches last season where CM and ASS managed to pull this off, perhaps unintentionally, but it was a thing of beauty. Personally, and for the team I am on, the upcoming season will be an experiment in building a solid team dynamic by using simple strategies as the one I outlined above. I want to see how far a good team can go, and how it can overcome individual skill.
  13. Congratulations and welcome back! Glad you are safe. What a journey! Impressive distance!
  14. That's exactly the point I was driving at. Concentrating all the "best" players together in the same squads usually produces the same results. Oh gee, will it be Assassins, or the Outlaws next season? I'm on the edge of my seat with anticipation... Not. Most players on these squads will stay on until the wheel's fall off. I was actually happy to see Critical Mass come back for another season. I think that squad proved that you don't have to ride the pine or stay on a top tier squad to be competitive. I'd love to see more of that occur as I think it creates a new and more interesting dynamic.
  15. Oh, haha. Joe, you are not a retard by any stretch of the imagination.
  16. Thanks for your response Arc, I think you and 7th made some excellent points. It is very frustrating to play with players that don't know what they are doing after years of play. I still think the joy of overcoming personal and team challenges to win a game feels better than getting a free ride. I am especially looking forward to next season as I believe there may be a few surprising and interesting up and coming squads to make a mark.
  17. I'm really confused by your response Joe. It sounds like you think it was written about you. Can you please clarify why you called me a retard? Are you currently dosing on a heavy amount of hallucinogenic drugs?
  18. Just wondering what your opinions are guys. I understand that everyone wants to move up and play in the big leagues, however... it does not seem like the top squads have any room for new players. You may have some room on the roster, but what about playing in actual games? How can a new player assert themselves if the existing squad has a solid core they always use and rely on? Does it feel good to win a championship if you only play in 5% to 10% of the games? I built a squad with my pals and we won AML in our first season. That to me, feels better than riding the bench all season long. So, what is the incentive? Wouldn't it feel better to earn the win? To really fight for it? Isn't that what this game is all about... playing it? What say you, men of pew?
  19. Discombobulate aka Disco Boobies will not be returning.
  20. Three, you really don't want to get in a pissing match with me about this sort of thing. Here's a PICTURE of me in front of my garage giving you a salutation. That's a 2008 Mercedes E550 and a 2013 Audi S5 convertible. On the right is my old (2006) Lincoln Navigator I use to haul stuff to my lake house (which I'd be happy to show you some pictures of). Before I went to full on auto racing in an actual race car, I was a certified Porsche club track instructor. In other words, I taught people how to drive on a race track. At the time, I had a Boxster S that I used on track. In this PICTURE you can see me at the track with another car I had at the time, a Mercedes S420 in the background (my wife had driven it to the track that day with our friends). HERE I am sitting on the grid waiting to go on track that same day. In all honesty, I probably have more money in my camera equipment than you do in your little M3 that you are so proud of. So yea, just sit down and shut up. I read Three's post last night after I beat him up in 4 on 4. I could tell he was a little emotional, but this... this response, is a full body back breaker to the twerp. Good job man. The middle finger is a nice touch! Sweet rides dude, and please come back to Subspace I also thought the painting was very well executed. I really like it. Great job dude, post more of your work
  21. Have you tried downloading zones from here: sscentral.sscuservers.net sscentral.trenchwars.org ? clean up your laptop memory with Ccleaner, check for malware with Malwarebytes... and make sure your anti virus is not blocking any ports... Good luck!
  22. That's very nice of you to say and i appreciate the sentiment (honestly). However, nothing has changed. The rules of the game are still flawed in a way that I personally just can't tolerate. And the people in charge are fine with that set of circumstances. I'm done. To me, it feels like you would like to return. You are pretty active on the forums. The only reason I log on to the forums is to get a small dose of SS fever while I'm at work. I am sure you miss playing because It's a really fun game. Do not let the actions of one player determine what you do with your spare time, or what you like to do for fun. Nothing will change with you leaving except that you won't have any fun. The world is full of assholes. I'm not going to quit life just because they are out there.
  23. I played this game for 18 years, if I feel like monitoring and posting on the forum, I will. What's it to you? You shouldn't quit the game based on one person laming you during a prac. That seems a bit of an over reaction. I am sure you miss playing, why not just come back?
