hey bargeld, you have a nice idea on how you believe !forcecap should work that contradicts the empirical evidence of how it does. you can continue to hold your (minority) world view and hope that the behavior of others somehow changes or you can change your behavior (i.e., do one of the three things i listed). *hint, only one of these options can you yourself enact; i'd recommend doing that one.

i'm confused why there is so much text in this thread... (so i guess i'll be hypocritical and add some more) correct me if i'm wrong, but there are still two 4v4 arenas types, 4v4prac# which does not have !forcecap and 4v4squad# which does (b/c its premised as a squad vs. squad arena). so if you are concerned with or do not like the use of !forcecap, go to 4v4prac# and wait until there are enough like-minded people there to play. if the majority of people choose to patronize 4v4squad#, and you cannot get sufficient interest in 4v4prac#, then people have in effect voted for the use of !forcecap and you are in the minority and at some point you are going to have to accept and deal with that. that is, it would be a bit ludicrous to expect the majority to bend over backwards to cater to your minority view and whining on an online forum is unlikely to change that, but feel free to try. so you have three options: 1) recruit more people to play in 4v4prac# arenas. 2) get better (socially, skill-wise, etc.), so that you aren't considered a nuisance, liability, and/or "unpickable." note: this game isn't hard, most anyone with decent resolution who isn't spastic should be able to become competent and "pickable" 3) find another game. note: majority rule is common in most online communities, and if you find it objectionable here, i'm afraid you're likely to find it objectionable elsewhere as well. ps: what about first to 12? is that still an option? would seem to minimize the major issue of playing a man down when newbs (or drunk vets) die out.

I know you probably did not intend this, but you make it sound like Sterling were bereft of skilled pilots. And while a decent number of their better pilots imo developed their skills primarily as members of Sterling (BfB/Rage, Plareplane, varsity, & nine), I would argue that they relied heavily on pilots like Seismic, Maimer, and to a lesser extent Primos and life who were already established as top pilots elsewhere before joining Sterling. As good as Rage was, I'd rather have a pilot like bhang or Mop in (speaking of which, where is the love for bhang?) -- of course, maybe I'm just resentful of Rage for keeping me off Sterling by threatening to quit (and getting Ice & nine? to join him) unless Five Venoms kicked me when I rejoined after Hemp Lordz. I'd like to believe Sterling could have been successful much sooner if not for that. oh well, fortunately I think we've all grown up and mellowed out since then.

And by Ass up 1-0...I assume you mean TD up 1-0; yes? -1st try at the game -- server dropped most-all/all of pilots w/ 2 Ass pilots w/ 0 reps, score 0-0. -2nd try at the game -- server dropped sometime after Sika died, TD 1-0.

While Unhallowed has been around for ages, they were reformed after being absent for a number of seasons. This is more or less how I remember Unhallowed, but Optic/Ftn/Captor/etc. would know better: 1) Unhallowed - played for numerous seasons, 50/50 - north americans/euros (eventually disbanded) 2) EGO - may have existed concurrently with Unhallowed, but i kinda think a number of Unhallowed pilots ended up joining (eventually disbanded) 3) darkslayers - Powerball turned pro league squad with a number of Unhallowed pilots (eventually disbanded b/c of Nelson being a biased league op and scheduling matches in favor of his squad - BIA) 4) Unhallowed - reformed with darkslayers and previous Unhallowed pilots (eventually renamed Flawless) 5) Flawless - (disbanded a couple seasons ago) 6) Unhallowed - reformed, mostly euros from EGO/BIA/etc.
