Summer might be a bad time to test new things... or a good time?? I imagine there will be a lot less people around during summer games (I'm assuming the season will start fairly quickly and be during summer) so if people are double squadding on these drafted teams as well, unless their games are at separate times there might be a lot of no shows. Or maybe people will be around more, I don't fking know. I know I will probably be around less for this next season do to nice weather and better things to do because of said nice weather.

safe zones: make them easier to get to please!

I'm sure increasing the number of safe zones and making them open would increase the amount of people using safe... but that doesn't make it a good idea. If you add more safe zones and make them simple to access then it's just going to promote people constantly running in when being chased or out of reps/rockets. It will become nearly impossible to chase down a turret, or a high bounty. The amount of people using it to afk will maybe increase very slightly, where the amount of safe zone laming will increase dramatically. The trade off is a terrible one. Catering to the few people who think it's too difficult or time consuming to spend the 20 seconds to fly to a safe zone at the expense of the current game play is a very bad idea. It's pretty unanimous that people already want to see a smaller map to prevent the ease that running/greening is right now, so keeping this size map and adding more safe zones would not only allow for constant running/greening (especially in a small populated zone) but also add in the ease of just popping into a safe zone when you run out of specials and waiting out anyone trying to kill you. It's just not good for game play at all. -

I don't understand your post really... I mean if you're too lazy to fly to the safe zone so you just stealth and float, it doesn't matter how "easy" they are to get in to you're still going to be too lazy to fly to them. As they are right now they take about 5 seconds to get in to once you get to them, if you're not a great pilot. I mean they are ridiculously easy to get into and opening them up a little more will save you maybe 2 or 3 seconds? If you're in that much of a hurry to afk you should probably just spec since it's clearly an emergency and you probably won't be back in 15 minutes anyway. In my opinion they should be much harder to get in to so that people can't use them to escape someone chasing them; making them any easier will just result in ever lamer tactics being used when someone is afraid they could die. -

Oh clearly I didn't realize that we used 2 different standing systems... maybe this rule below should point to 4.1 as well as 4.2 then... 4.0.1 -- Basic Standings rules. The season standings will be W/L -> K/D -> HtH if available -> And for early rounds a coin-toss or other abstract call until a better way is discovered. Playoff standings in 4.2. Or really 4.1 tie-breaker portion should be in rule 4.2 instead probably.

What you talking about Caerbaddnog. If we win there will be a 6-6 tie between us and rebels or !norating for sure and possibly llamas as well. Which will put it at k/d which will mean we make it PRO 100% since we are already leading the 6-5 teams in k/d and with 1 of them losing and us winning ours gets better and theirs gets worse. Llamas and the loser of rebels and !norating will be behind us if we win against SFE. Thus rocketing us 2 spots to 6th and in to PRO. Analysis complete.

Scheduling: -Round 1: * match ups will be selected via random draw * I will number each team and have someone select number combinations for the match ups * Match ups will be placed in a bracket system for following rounds -Round 2: * Play the winning team from the other bracket in your division * Should the team amounts be uneven some teams may be awarded a bye, this will be by random luck from their bracket pairings - Round 3+: * Continue in your bracket play. Match Play/Rules: - Single Elimination - Matches will be best of 3 (first team to win 2 games) - No substitutes - Unlimited lagouts, games do not pause for lag outs, hop back in as fast as you can. - Pilots may shipchange at any time during the match. - Each player 'slot' is allowed 10 deaths before that 'slot' is dead. - There are 3 ways to win a game: Eliminate the other team from the box with simultaneous deaths. Eliminate one opponent by causing 10 deaths. After this the other opponent is eliminated by 1 death. Timer runs out. The team with the fewest deaths wins the game. If both teams have equal number of deaths, a duel will take place between one pilot on each team chosen by the acting captains. - If both teams die out of the box simultaneously then the game is replayed.

Okay well I was talking to hibachi and we had a few different ideas, it would be nice to get some feedback from other people, but that doesn't seem to happen these days. Just bitching after the fact! But I'll list a couple different ideas we came up with. 1. Fixed schedule play each team once, then random draw the remaining rounds, playing each team a maximum of 2 times (depends on how many teams to how many teams you would play twice and how many once). 2. Fixed schedule round robin style until you play each team once then pyramid league based on standings and again you can only play each team a maximum of 2 times. 3. Fixed schedule round robin style resulting in an aml/pro split based on standings after each team has played each other team once. Then you play within in your division for the remainder of the season. - Possibly allowing for a match between the top AML team and bottom PRO team to switch spots, either each week (could be difficult due to repeat match ups) or only in the final week. 4. Draft league. I think things are probably a little too big to do this still but figured I'd throw it in since league would probably be more competitive but then a lot of players from SFE/LSF/etc would probably get benched most games so that's not fun either.

Again with your fabrications. The only one Happy Mob there was Mindriot, no one else was from my squad there. And secondly, I am a member of the Staff who was present at the time of the altercation and in the discussion I said I wouldn't ban anyone involved in this incident due to the fact it was mostly just arguing for the sake of arguing with each other instead of playing it out and starting a new one. Mindriot engaged when I entered and told him to either engage or spec please. You chose to not allow a sub by banning all those who wanted to sub in and end the game as well as to not fight mindriot yourself because you would rather complain and whine about him and I, which I have no powers so complaining I am biased does nothing. So I simply got everyone to a new arena to start another practice and let you two sit there and wait out the timer free to complain about each other all you want. Yes you came in to the 4v4 arena later and started taunting me typing "Ban me, I dare you to try to ban me" over and over. I did say "it probably won't be too long". Although, I was not referring to myself banning you, just you getting banned in general. I probably shouldn't have said that and kept my mouth shut, so I apologize for that. But taunting staff members is probably not in your best interests given your past. And that will be my last comment on this issue.

My feelings on this issue are pretty well known, but I'll reiterate them for the sake of this post. Definitely fixed, each squad plays each other one time and then a few randomized rounds. Don't put the randomized rounds all at the end, mix them in randomly, so there will be a chance of back to back matches but you will only ever play a team twice (by random draw) and most teams (depending on the amount in league next season) only once. I know Nguyens are tired of playing The Dark, Sterling and Assassins every weekend and although so far Happy Mob's schedule has been pretty spread out and I think we've only played llama's twice we haven't been able to play Nguyens or assassins since the first week. It turns out this actually worked out with us playing every one but Nguyens which is cool, but generally that doesn't happen. We've just been pretty hit or miss on some of our games. I know some teams are already at 3 matches against others and have 3ish teams they haven't and probably won't even face which just unbalances the standings completely and doesn't reflect the actual skill level of the teams. Fact is league is just too small to do pyramid, anyone who is in aml either by 1 loss or simply k/d ratio, vs those who are just above the pro/aml split, are at a huge advantage because generally their schedule is going to be much easier in the last week. Where as a fixed schedule and have a couple randomized (but fixed) matches thrown in the mix will result in much more accurate standings and aml/pro split. There might still be 2 or 3 squads fighting it out for a pro/aml spot down to the end but that will mean they are both fairly equally matched instead of one team getting an easier schedule. As for Staff changes... I just want to see 1 or 2 active people (I know Crayzee is supposed to help but he doesn't seem to be around enough) who can help in a few ways Start league matches if Caer is M.I.A for some reason or in a practice Handle any problems with games if Caer is in a match himself or M.I.A Keep the integrity of practices during the week Discuss any issues to do with league/staff They're all important issues that need to be addressed at this current time. Caer has always been there on Sundays, but eventually there may come a time he can't log in due to internet issues or something that he can't help and then league just won't run. That won't be acceptable and fireworks will fly for sure. So having some sort of backup plan in place is necessary to prevent this from ever happening. 3 is ideal (including Caerbannog and should be from 3 different squads), because the chances of all 3 not logging in (if they are all active members) is not that likely and it will allow for game time issues to be addressed as it's not likely that all 3 staff members will be in a match at the same time. As most of the offenses that people do during pracs currently have a "mod must be present" clause in the rules we definitely need a few more active people who can enforce the rules during the week and send either a log or game id to the higher ups for any serious issues or repeat offenses. As well as this will give a sort of "panel" for issues regarding league staff, so you can bring up any possible issues or offenses to one of the other staff members, who should keep it secret from the accused staff member until(if) necessary to talk to them, and discuss it with the necessary chaos zone staff or other 4v4 League Staff depending on the offense. All and all it will just make for a smoother league, where "biased" opinions and allegations will be much less likely.

I have already told hallu, polix and caer all what happened from the point where I received a cheater message and entered the arena. Caer has looked at the log and knows what you're saying is a lie, not to mention he already posted that I don't even have powers in 4v4, which is true and I never claimed to have powers nor did I say I would ban you during that game. So the point is completely moot. But I'm not going to get in to a fight with you and play your little petty games, so feel free to try to slander me all you wish.

Alright, so I'm planning on running a 2v2 tournament in the coming weeks. I've put together a basic set of rules/guidelines so far but would like comments or suggestions from those interested in participating as well as date/time suggestions. Please post any of your suggestions, comments, questions, etc here. The aim will be for 8-16 teams which should make it around a 3 hour event, although you will have a bit of downtime in between the early matches if you are the winning team. This will be my first run event, and should it go well and people are interested I hope to run more. Dueling tourney, 2v2 again if it's wanted, other chaos events. I would even be willing to look into starting up 2v2 league, Duel league/ladder, etc in the future if it's wanted. I don't want to make this first event too large, but I also want it to be competitive and fun. So if you don't get in on this one, I'm sorry but we can run another one soon if it's wanted. No benji, the Ass up 1-0 means they won their first encounter and are up 1-0 in the series. This is match 2 on this coming Sunday between those 2 teams. Game will start fresh 0-0 with full ships, etc etc. Pick Benji, he's new.
