Sad to see you go, but happy that you're doing what's right for you. I haven't really enjoyed or played the game in years now, but it's nice to have this place to check in on from time to time. Feel free to make it a big deal -- we all appreciate the effort you've put in over the years.
Sweet! Thanks for your work in getting this up. There's a couple different background lvz in the packages I sent you, if you want to get rid of the starryness. :-P
Executive summary: Avast is an ignoramus, Dr Brain is an elitist, Samapico is an opportunist, Xog doesn't have a million dollars, and if he did, he'd be better off spending it on himself than our sorry lot.
Such as? I have to agree with Dr Brain on this one. There is a only a small window of opportunity after people develop the required skills and before they realize they can be accumulating more utility working on things other than SubSpace.
I just finished with the SparkFun AVC so I am more likely to work on it, but still very unlikely to work on it. However, there really isn't that much to work on. The zone works. It needs management.
Mad props for still rocking the 486. If you have access to a server in another location, you could try tunneling your traffic through it to avoid the bad nodes.
This topic is about deathball, and the things that need to be fixed in the settings. Lineup is always: 4x Ship 2 (scout) 1x Ship 3 (gunner) 1x Ship 4 (deployer) Settings/ASSS fixes: - deps need to be able to mine - you should be able to shoot, die, and still score (I think this is the same problem as dying in the goal and not scoring) - greens don't always give full health - spawn radius needs to be decreased slightly so you don't spawn outside of base - arena needs to be locked to prevent shipchanging
I actually had the zone up and running as SSL Metal Gear CTF on Lynx's server a few weeks ago. Then it went down and I never bothered to bring it back up. What is really needed is a person who is dedicated enough to see the management and coordination side of this through. I'm willing to help out technically with setting up and configuring the Subgame zone, but right now I don't have the time and energy to take the overall lead.
