I think that almost all the players who might be interested can handle a little bit of flexibility, as long as they don't have to think to much. Er... goto another zone maybe? The main reason why I prefer dueling in hyperspace is that you can customize your ship. Dave's not here man. But sign ups are there. I was planning at this time to close sign ups and start this thing, but seeing as there is only 3 or so players, I'll let it stew another week.

Sooo... friday is worse then sunday? How about fri/sat/sun? Or are you just saying, changing the days wont effect how bad you think this method is?

The picked those times because they are mostly acceptable in most of europe, and ok in america. I'm averse to the idea of letting players determine time, because they're often so bad at it. Don't get me wrong, I think that alot players would be fine at it, but alot of players aren't. Its also much more difficult to sort it out if the players can't agree, I mean, if both players are being about as reasonable as eachother, who do you remove from the league? Do you think moving it from sat/sun to fri/sat would help?
  5. Hello! This is me on your forums opening sign ups for the dueling league I made. If you didn't notice, the rules are here. If you want to comment on my rules/talking/stupidity, please go do it on that topic. When signing up, please post: The username you are signing up. Er... thats it actually. You can change whatever ship your using inbetween duels, and you only have to pay on the day... Go read the other topic... seriously, its all in there. Edit: Sign ups are now closed, first duels 16th and 17th of October.

UTC is Coordinated Universal Time, its the same time as GMT. Usually, other time zones are in reference to UTC. Try looking it up on Wikipedia. If you sign up but can't make it, no worrys, although this does mean that anyone you would have fought wins by default. Also, you have to sign up at the start. Sorry.

I realy like the idea of being able to let players from all timezones play. But I think that if you added another set of times, mostly what this would lead to is players being unable to play due to other players picking other times. One other thing to try would be to seperate people out on a timezone basis, but in the end, players from one timezone will have to fight players from another time zone. I don't see an easy way around this. Oh, and the entry fees already go into the prizes. Guess I ninja edited it.

Noooooooooo! Also known as: Do not want! I understand, I would not try to make it to a dueling league if it were that late/early.

Yay! omni is gonna play. And oh yes, i forgot to add the entry fees to the rules. Silly me. The entry fee is 10k, but you only have to pay on the day. I'll go edit the rules now...

I thought Hyperspace already had a duel ladder, or something similer. Probably you ment something different to that though. As a map, the boxduel arena is pretty close to what I want, but the fact it has ?buy very much makes it not what I want. If making a different map would get past that, that would be awsome. That would be super duper awsomeness, although I don't envy the prospect of having to turn up to every duel just to use ?shipitems on people.

So like, my username is Dragon257. You might have seen me around the place. I decided to make a dueling league! The reason for this, is becouse I enjoy dueling, and enjoy seeing other skilled people dueling. Bellow are the set of rules I've thought up. I decided to post them before I open signups, to see what all you clever people think. Sign ups are now open, look here. Sign ups are now closed, first duels 16th and 17th of October. I realize the prizes arn't that big, and having both warbirds and javelins in the same league is a bit stupid, but I mostly made these rules with fun and simplicity in mind. Prizes! Finalist prize is 100k HSD. Second place prize is 50k HSD. Third place prize is 25k HSD. Entry fee is 10k HSD, you can pay on the day or any other time you want. If you don't pay, then you don't get to play. All of the fees will be added to the prizes in the ratios of: 4:7 for the first place prize, 2:7 for the second place prize, and 1:7 for the third place prize. Ships: Warbird or javelin, items/specials and stealth is not allowed. Everything else is legal, so fetch your spam guns/prox bombs if thats your thing. Format: Assuming more then 5 players sign up, there will be a group stage, if not it will go straight to finals. Groups: During the groups stage, players will be randomly divided into groups of 3 and 4 players, with as many groups of 4 as is possible. In groups of 4 players, each player will play every other player in the order of: Player 1 vs Player 2, Player 3 vs Player 4, Player 1 vs Player 3, Player 2 vs Player 4, Player 1 vs Player 4. Duels in groups of 4 players will be 3b1, in order to avoid being there forever. In groups of 3 players, each player will play every other player in the order of: Player 1 vs Player 2, Player 2 vs Player 3, Player 1 vs Player 3. Duels in groups of 3 players will be 5b1, since there is more time. The two players with the most wins will advance to the next round, in the event of a tie then the player with the most deaths gets knocked out. If all the players have the same number of deaths, then I will knockout the player I think is weakest. When in a group of 4 players, only 3 turn up, then the rules are the same as for a group of 3 players. If only 2 players turn up, then there will be a single playof in a 5b2 duel. If only a single Player turns up, then they are awsome and automaticly advance. When all the groups have played of, and there is still more then 5 players then another round of groups will begin. Otherwise the finals stage comes next. Finals: Hopefully by this point there are exactly 4 players, but its possible there isn't, due to people not turning up and what not. If there is 5 players, then 3 of the players will fight in a group, and the other two players will face of in a 5b2 duel. The winners then form another 3 player group, as below. If there are 4 players, then there are two 5b2 duels, the losers, then the winners fight another two 5b2 duels for the titles of third, second and first. If there are 3 players, then there is a group format like during the groups stage. The player with the most wins is first, the player with the second most second, and so on. If its a draw, then the another round of duels ocour. If its STILL a draw, then the players with the most deaths from both rounds lose. If its STILL STILL a draw, Then I decide who wins and looses. Tough luck. If there are 2 players. Somehow. Then there is a 5b2 duel. Note that in this case noone gets third place. If there is only 1 player, then a whole load other players havn't shown up and this one person gets first place. Times: All groups/duels will be on weekends, at 8 or 9 or 10 or 11 PM UTC. If you don't atend, then you get removed from the league. Each player MUST, or else be removed from the league, either ?message me or pm me on these forums a list of the times they are available before the the end of friday, at 12:00 PM in the PST zone (UTC-8 ). At least half of the times must be open. I will try to be as accommodating as possible, but it may just not be possible to fit all of the players in. Its worth noting that if you're available at all of the times, its not possible to be removed due to this. A few small things: Duels will be held in ?go boxduel. r/g is to be used in all duels. If you don't know how this works, one player types r to signify ready, then the other player types g to signify go. You can change your ship setup however you want between duels, but, I want there to be no ship changes during a duel. Unfortunatly, ?buy works in the boxduel arena safe, so I don't know if this can be done... If there are any problems during the duels, then I will do whatever I think is the right thing to do. Note: If anyone can help me out with players being able to change their ships in the boxduel arena, that would be realy realy helpfull.

Thank you! I'll post my rules now, see what people think for a while, then open signups shortly after.

    League!

Hi! I'm new on this forum, so be nice. What I wanted to know is, are there any rules against a player organizing a dueling league? I've never seen any, but it pays to check. Thanks.
