I used to play a little bit of Hockey zone way back when. I talked to a kid named Ghoulie a lot. I might drop back by.

ASWZ is as dead as it can be. The few ASWZ'ers around can't find the time to make it once a week for an hour.

Multiple layers to me don't seem like such a good idea on a top-down shooter like SS. I had a hard time figuring out when you were up one layer. I watched your video and really liked it, though. Keep up the good work.

People still play Hockey? Every time I look at the zone, the pop is in the single digits.

I always thought a slightly graphically enhanced version of Subspace would do well. Unfortunately I don't have the skill to produce such a thing. Instead of top-down, a slanted-down view. This would provide slightly better frontal visibility but at the expense of rear visibility.

I second a smaller map. What is everyone's thoughts on having traditional flagging settings? You know, a person's flag timer runs out and it drops and isn't able to be picked up by anyone on that freq. Today, the flag just respawns and it sort of does promote roaming the map and picking up flags. If the flags drop, though, you have to guard it and fight for it or else you lose it.

A small group consisting of old members from Modus and myself attempt to revive ASWZ about every half year or so. We drum up enough interest to have 5-8 people show up a few Sundays in a row and then it dies off again As a dumb 14 year-old kid I wrote for Sheep Cloning for all of about a week until Silent Dragon removed me.

South Park was my very first zone. What ever happened to The $niper and Ghostz? I'm really digging into my memory bank here, but last I knew they met in real life and then I think got married.

It'd be nice if we can use this thread to post our Skypes/MSNs/etc as that would be easier to reach everyone.

I have been away from the forum for a long while. I see there is an ASWZ.org. Is ASWZ on its own server now or still a sub-arena? I'd love to get involved somehow in its resurrection. When I began playing ASWZ I was 15 (began SS at 14) and at 26 years of age I still pine for some flagging action that only this zone brought. I think a part of me will always hope one day this zone will again come alive and have a steady population of 25 or 30. Is anyone else interested beside me?

I doubt anyone remembers me. The highlight of my ASWZ career was playing on Verboten (I can hear you all thinking "who?") in a few league games. I started playing SS at 14 and played all the way through college. I went to basic training, came back on leave and ASWZ had a population of 0 I miss this zone so much. I would drop all my hobbies right now if ASWZ would somehow resurrect in all it's prior glory. Anyway, just dropping in to say hi.

I used to be an energy waster. Guilty as charged. When I was in the military, I lived in government housing on base and they paid for everything: electricity, water, housing upkeep, etc, etc. So I'd leave my AC on 68 all the time, no matter if I was there or not. In fact, I wouldn't even shut off my TV or any of the lights before I left the house. Now since I'm out of the military and paying for it, I'm a lot thriftier.

In #modus on Freenode we talk around twice a month about reviving the zone. I still have hope that one day I'll log on to SS and see ASWZ with 30 people in it like old times.

Long story short, I went off to basic training in Feb of 04, got back late in June of 04 and ASWZ, along with Dueling Arizona were completely gone. This prompted my quiet retirement and feeble attempt at finding something equally as enjoyable. Other than Halo 2, I have pretty much given up gaming all together. This is a roll call for you other orphaned ASWZers. What zones are you playing now? Any word on ASWZ being revived?
