Yeah I am running Vista Business 32bit Shame really as it its not *as* smooth in Software Emulation mode, but yes as stated in previous post, Software Emulation does cure the problem to a certain extent. Things flicker a bit more in software emulation mode and its not perfect, then again, its better than 10-18fps. Hope this can be something that can be looked into, I don't understand the complexity of the problem to know whether its an easy fix or not. But for now, I will struggle on with software emulation. Hey hey, Using a Lenovo X301 with Integrated Intel 4500HD graphics. Latest drivers, latest directx, Profile resolution set, refreshs et , etc etc, FPS is ok on an area with no action and no tiles, then instantly drops to very jerky when theres other ships/tiles etc. Software Emulation fixes the problem, but I was wondering more about the cause and if it can be avoided/fixed. I know the 4500HD is crap, but I'd have atleast thought it could pull 1440x900 (res of display) at 60fps quite comfortably. Any ideas ?

Here's one, that shouldn't be that hard to do, Can you add a minimise to tray function ? That'd be cool for me, and maybe others I guess, to tuck it in the tray and give me valuable taskbar space back !

lol a southpark moment. I miss StarWars being populated with enough people to have the type of flagging game I like back when it was RiSC or SFSS it always had enough pop, and also so did SWR, which was fun and roughly similar settings, can't find any populated zone anymore with flagging that I really like, only EG comes close, and its nothing like it used to be oh well

well there's a !@#$%^&* of a lot of packet loss on some of the hops. Also Bezeqint from what I remember is an Israeli ISP, so the ping to the US is probably pretty shabby as will the lag then be also. Not a lot of help on that one other than either to try a different Israeli ISP with better US routing, or move closer to the US ? yeeeehaw ! luckily for me UK is one country away from US, even so I get pings up in the 200ms area, then again if you're on DSL and you can understand what Im saying try seeing what mode your modem connects to their DSLAM (your local DSL exchange) at , if they use interleaving, try getting technical support to change it to fast-path, lower pings, but a slight loss of reliability, then again, it probably won't change things too much but its still an option to use to see if your connection will work better let me know how it goes

unless you find someone to host a SOCKS Proxy for you on a fast internet connection, then its feasable :-) put it on something fun like port and off you go :-D

The best thing for new players would be having a tutorial zone. Call it TUTORIAL ZONE or something super creative like that, and have it on the default zone list. A fun to play tutorial gauntlet could be made covering all the basics and more advanced stuff. Lots of colorful lvz and AI bots too! And at the end of the lesson have a banner for each zone with a short description. I really like that idea :-)
