Ever since I reinstalled Windows XP Professional with SP2, I've had nothing more than heart-ache when it comes to running Continuum. I've tried multiple versions, but for some reason the process just bounces around in the background, unable to be shut down (unless you completely log off). My suggestion to the community is that a new development team be formed to create the next version of Subspace/Continuum. Apparently PriitK doesn't care anymore because he has moved on to bigger and better things (KaZAA and Skype). When would a guy like him have time to upgrade a free project such as Continuum? With all the upgrades that Microsoft has been feeding us lately, I'm not suprised half of us are unable to run the game anymore. I've tried all the options suggested in the tech support forum to no avail. If continuum was picked up by a new development team, the game could be expanded upon further. Maybe the implementation of particle system and top-down 3d map design would be in the works. After all, Subspace is 10 years old this year, it's time for a makeover. I don't see the possibillity of a Subspace 2 from any major game publisher as it seems that space games are not as popular as FPS. I understand many users want continuum to remain compatable with their hardware configurations, but with the technology that is available, further expansion is a must! I hope PriitK considers possibly handing the project over to a new development team that can continue updating the client. I know the main reason such code has not been released in the past was due to the excessive amount of cheating. Unfortunately the client's security upgrading has been neglected and cheaters once again reign on the network. I heard that SOS had spoken to several anti-cheat program publishers about possible implementation of such software into future versions of the game, but apparently it would be quite a diffucult task to accomplish. Places like punkbuster only support games that are still in the retail market, not freeware playerbase supported games. I don't know guys, where should we go from here? I think its time that someone pick up where PriitK left off and continue upgrading this thing! There is much to be done, just check out that wishlist in this forum!
