  1. Giving out money and experience takes away the skill, time and effort of this game. Why not give out 50-100bounty whenever someone wins. These prizes would only be given to first place and MVP. Although HS doesn't have many events, i think this system would be effective when it does develop some events. Bounty requires both time and skill to maintain. Also these prizes should be reletively low in bounty because the can be stackable. For example if you save up these prizes you could prize yourself 50bounty 3 times which means you get 150bounty + orginial bounty. There could be a prize bot, where players could PM. To view prizes: !lp (lp=list prizes) The list would look something like: Amount of Bounty Hosted Mod Date of Event 1. 100 Masaru 10-10-07 2. 3. (keeps going depending on how many prizes the person has won) People would pm the bot this command as well as !pm (number of prize on list) (pm=prize me) I think this would be good, especially since HS's population is growing so rapidy these days.

    This has already been discussed, but i would actually take further steps and make it illegal. Many other successful zones have. Generally the rule would go along the lines of: -Must Drop in Base. -Nuet/Kill Once before Winning in the Base. Then again, it would be tough to moderate. Again in most other zones, players have pride and diginity..therefore hold these rules as a quiet guideline.

    The problem with this, is that us "Rich People" are slowing down the circulation of money flowing within the "HS Economy." !@#$%^&*, I'm all for everyone getting rich..but when that happens the game gets intensely boring. What happens when every player has every item? There is no further way for players to advance. HyperSpace has no flagging or dueling leagues therefore, once you hit the top..theres nowhere to go. In a way, these "Aristo's" keep the game from having to reset every 2 weeks. Of course, that's my perspective. It is probably biased.

  6. Alright, here are just a conclusion of some of the idea's that everyone has been throwing around. I thought it would be nice if we could clean up a bit. Note: These are mostly one-sided. Thors: -overpowered -proximity too high Solution: -Chop a thor off of siege pack -Split siege pack in half (1 thor 1 burst; allow players to have 2 siege packs max) -Thor armor Gate Mining: +promote FTL usage -lame Solution: -lower the price of FTL items (Most newer players find ID drives, Jump Engines and even TW tokens expensive.) -make 2+ fixed positions that people could possibly spawn at. Vet Dominance: -not fun for everyone else -ruins population Solution: -Have fixed pub days (Run by bots.) -Host Flag game events with a timer. -Give more XP/Money to newer players when they do manage to kill very expereinced players. Turretbase: -With one burst shard doing 3k dmg, and weasels with incredible burst speed, any turreting lanc can die almost immediatly. Solution: -Give lanc 3000+ nrg -Make the burst damage on Turretbase still large, but not 1HitKill. Ship Balancing -Weasel's Emp Time Meh..Only did this so it would be easier to implement..but with Doc and D1 so busy I doubt anything will get done soon. Hopefully this thread will make changes (if-needed) easier to see. Add here if you want anything in HS to be changed but only in this format. (Problem Name) +(Pros) -(Cons) Solutions: -(Solution #1) This also will help seperate actual proposals for the zone from whining and rants posts.

  8. Perhaps everyonce in awhile we should retire items on the ?buy list and retired them. Then we could add new items with the ?buy list getting too big. After awhile we can either bring the retired items back or simply abandon it altogether. I think this proposal would help weasel out the best sets possible for HyperSpace and get rid of the useless ones noone uses because it sucks. ie: 1. Take away plasma cannon. (Retired Item) 2. Add new gun. (Mix and match bullet delay, bullet energy, multifire option, bounce option, gun level to create a new gun) 3. After a few weeks intiate an arena vote: something along the lines of "Do you want to keep (new gun name) or change to the old one?" and people would type !vote yes or !vote no. 4. Bring back the most popular gun for Hyperspace.
  9. I think tw tokens might still be a little too pricey. In relation to the gate mining thread, most players can't afford to spend 1k just to get to a base. As for Jump engines and ID drives, those are just TOO expensive for newer players. If they aren't willing to spend 1k for tw tokens how can you expect them to spend 150k or 50k just to get into a sector? I can tell you wanted to promote ftl engines Doc, but your tactics has only appealed to the richer, more experience population. -maybe lower the price of tw tokens to $500?
  10. Although I voted agaisnt it before, nowsdays I think I agree. The fact that there are almost no good games. I dont think we should go as far as to completely eliminate private freqs, but perhaps if we created some sort of module or bot that eliminates private freqs, evens pub freqs automatically and removes the limit of 10 from public freq max from 12:00am to 12:am the next day. I think these days should be 2 days in the week, such as Monday and Thursday. Like everyone else has stated, there hasn't been many good flag games lately. Time Zone probably doesnt matter. Since its for the course of 24 hours, mostly it affects everyone that plays.
  11. I agree with more armor but those sound too expensive. I would like some typ eof rushing armor though. Also with the psychmessage thing everyone would just spam..

  14. Captains are good because they make both teams even. For example, you can take two excellent players such as Okyo and Wallbomb and split them into two freqs to make sure one team does not get an edge over the other. Of course after picking the first 5 for both teams the rest could be randomized to save time. And I agree with Domio. Masaru, Sharpflame, Rare, Boldot are all GREAT jrmods, but we need mods that have the time and are willing to host a flagging game. Also, some of the rules for these pick-up games should be: -usually hosted after a flag game (counts as an event) -runs for a certain time (30minutes-2hours) -held within another arena other then pub 0 -captains, teams locked after game starts -if someone wants to enter, he/she must get another person to enter the game as a pair (one for freq 1 and one for freq 10) ..but it's alway harder to implement than it sounds.

  22. I still think it's a bit over.. Siege Pack = 1 thor? how does that sound? yes, theyre fun but it kinda sucks for everyone else when you CAN instant kill anything under 1500 energy..not to mention prox..so you dont even have to aim directly.
  23. 3000 energy dealt per one shard of burst is a bit unreasonable isnt it? I propose to lower it to something like 2000 dmg. That way it isnt INSTANT death. Thanks for reading.
  24. This isn't happening. Ships and money have been reset. I think staff should host some of these themselves though.
  25. Before the reset, my squad and I are thinking of hosting a Jav TeamDuel Tourney. Anyone who wants to partake would be able to participate and all prizes would be given out by me. >I have not decided whether i want to randomize teams with people who want to sign up, or let people choose thier own teams. >I have also not decided how many players should be in a team.
