activation

that was a good idea root, but it's saying that I got 1440 x 900 in the resolution for that too. i guess it is the graphics card then, but that really makes no sense ughhh i can live with 1200 x 1024 i guess but i just dont understand why a new card that is able to give a 1440 x 900 on the desktop can't do the same in game.

that seems like something in the right direction maybe. definitely something i don't know how to do, meaning i havent tried it.

yes. but after 1280 x 1024 nothing happens unless i select a weird resolution and then it stays 1280 x 1024 but stretches out awkwardly cutting off the sides

i'm well aware of this, but this isnt the problem i have. all sorts of resolutions from 680 to 1400 are available for me to choose, it's just that no matter what I choose, it won't display beyond 1028 x 724 when i load it. in my profile.dat it is registering that I changed it to 1400 x 900, just when I start the game it doesn't have that resolution show up. and I just read the FAQ and tried every suggestion on there to no avail. it's only in this game that i've had problems with.

ok lets get back on subject i tried to reinstall the drivers which didn't help at all. and I already said i played around with default resolutions. it will auto adjust on my monitor but it will still come out to be the same size. edit: oh, and the actual limit it wont go past is 1024 x 728... i wasn't looking before. this is bearable to play in i guess, but i'd much rather play on 1400, especially since i have before.

could you elaborate? I have tried to run it in compatibility mode for XP SP2 and ran it as administrator too if that's what you mean. Both did nothing.

ahha, i'm actually going to try to repair the 8800 by doing that oven trick, but it you'd want to buy it for $40 and shipping after that if it works... we could arrange a deal and no, the same thing happens in windowed mode.

Am I the only one who thinks that being in "war" with Russia provides stabilization? It's like having all the war time economy benefits, with none of the threat. We've been looking for something similar to that ever since the end of the Cold War, but the middle east has proven to show resistance and our war time presidents should learn to back off. Russia, however, doesn't want to start anything because it knows no one else, save the "communist" countries, will support them. It's better to know your enemy and live with it than not know when the next strike is going to occur.

It is a hauntingly good weapon, but you need one on stock ships because you have nothing else when you first start the game. Only makes sense.
