  1. Yeah...those alcohol-based biofuels sound good. But they aren't. Agriculture causes too many environmental problems. With biofuels, we subs!@#$%^&*ute one finite resource (oil) for another (soil), and subs!@#$%^&*ute one environmental problem (air pollution) with another (land degradation and water pollution). Forget it. Farming, in its present form, is not a sustainable way of producing energy. Monte.
  2. Dams suck because of the ecological implications, and because of the amount of land that they consume. It is NOT a good thing to build new dams. Nuclear and fossil fuels suck because they prduce waste that we cannot manage safely. If we can't reduce electricity consumption (which is total BS - we can), then we should develop technology for geothermal power and wave power. Wind might have a place in some situations too, but it isn't very efficient.
  3. bicameral parliamentary democracy is the way to go.
  4. I have a better idea. Use less electricity. Instead of putting a billion bucks or so into a new power station, use the same money to replace energy inefficient machines. It'll take some clever financial juggling...and the government will need avoid manipulation by lobbyists in the energy industry, but in the long run it will cheaper and better for everyone. Monte.
  5. I'm an ordinary wage earner with an average income and, I just don’t got the time to get a better education or a better job, so how am I supposed to buy a beach house and a yacht? I really enjoy the beach and yachting, but the thing is I don’t have the money to buy them. The reason that theft and embezzlement is here is so that those of us who can’t pay for things can enjoy what others are enjoying. Another thing is, yachts are too expensive, most of the time you get a small boat that kinda sucks, theft and embezzlement eliminates that by allowing you to buy what you want. I understand that the people and businesses are losing money this way but if they were willing to first lower prices, and allow people to buy houses and yachts while someone else pays, people won't thieve as much. Finally, this is closely related to a issue where people buy lawn mowers and video recorders from bars, I think this is ok as well because it’s the people's fault for not putting big enough locks on their garages, sheds and homes. C'mon. Get real. Having said that....P2P is ELITE. FREE STUFF!!!!!!
  6. Is what is happening in Iraq now terrorism or guerilla warfare? Terrorist One that engages in acts or an act of terrorism. Terrorism The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. Isn't that what the US and her allies did when they went against the UN and threatened and later invaded Iraq? What is going on now is less an act of terrorism and more an act of guerilla warfare.... Guerrilla A member of an irregular, usually indigenous military or paramilitary unit operating in small bands in occupied territory to har!@#$%^&* and undermine the enemy, as by surprise raids. The attacks on occupying forces and their supporters are guerilla attacks. The US president has said as much when he says that these attackers are supporters of the former regime. They aren't attacking civilans or their property...they are har!@#$%^&*ing and undermining those that seek to occupy their territory. Of course, in the end, it all adds up to more killing and death and it sucks...but don't be fooled by the rhetoric.....this is what you get when you take a country by force for 'ideological or political reasons'. Monte.
