Every department has their specialty which is well defined, mine is I.T. However much I would love to work on the Canadarm2, satellites or laser guidance systems, I just can't, but I do have access to all of the labs and facilities. I somewhat agree. However, the forums search ability was put in place so that users could find old threads and then post on them to not have to create another, which in essence would be a waste of space. As long as it's not abused by posting meaningless gibberish, it shouldn't be a problem. Until/if the hack is put in, if you notice users being idiots with old threads, let a moderator or admin know.
