1. I didn't say that, I was talking about how education can be a god(little g), i.e. something to use in explaining life as well as sustaining life. The entire point of that is education, as something which will provide you with the means to live(said job), as well as the means to contemplate living, can become a pretty encomp!@#$%^&*ing aspect of your life, and therefore be an important consideration for life's meaning. 2. I don't know about you but I'm not paying for college other than in taxes, which you pay regardless of whether you go to college. 3. Like I said before, If you don't think you aren't getting a lot more out of college than a better job think again. Trade and technical schools can give you that. But, you might say, the best jobs still want a real degree. Why? because people with a degree have a better understanding of who they are, what they are doing in life, etc. and that directly translates to having a better mind and thus performing more than a set niche role in the workplace. Obviously, you fit into one of those categories I listed before about people who think college is jsut to get a better job.
