  1. How about creating a proper mac application of it... i can imagine many people are not up for this, i know i am not... also, the urls won't work? any ideas?
  2. ahh, been ill. Hope youre ok now? Goodluck with the schoolwork, and we all hope you can continue the more important matters soon
  3. its been uberquiet tho... /me pokes SOS for signs of life
  4. eh lol?
  5. who says were using the old server SOS is writing a new program i hear... I think he alone can tell us how many ships are supported
  6. sounds promising
  7. SOS maybe a stupid idea but how about letting other people in on the coding part I know theres very few, i cant code c++ or c# OR directx but obviously its to much work for you alone since you barely have time. Maybe you can give out some tasks to other people like someone makes a login part, some others work on the actual gameplay and so on. and you piece it together to make it one whole. Offcoarse they have to work by your rules and stuff. Otherwise everyone gives you a snippet that doesnt work with someone elses snippet... But im sure its possible with the right people and guidelines.
  8. lol dont upset him...
  9. So if we all sit tight and SOS continues at this speed, we might expect a beta server and client in 10 months?
  10. lol
  11. is there a website being set up with project info? maybe on sourceforge or whatever... if so plz post url
  12. a superb xmas present btw, if you need beta testers i can help and maybe a mate ofme too for both server and client...
  13. exactly my idea SOS Im still wondering, if the server program will be as easy to set up as the continuum server (but better offcoarse). And how much bandwidth it will take to host a server... Because, im always interrested in hosting random servers
  14. dude if you dont like ms so be it but not all microsoft is bad... if its really bad then why is it so widely used... anyway. i agree with you on the multios thing but stop whining about sos using directx stuff... its annoying
  15. you can always make it crossplatform in a later stage... maybe when you got several hundred or even thousand players... btw i was thinking. regarding the server, how many bandwidth will one player use when he plays in the server... is it as low as continuum? and will the server be easy to setup and maintain from a home server? just as the continuum server is...
