  1. conceited l0l, it has nothing to do with you. the general public doesnt care about radio anymore. theres hardly a sense of community anymore on any level. RIP subspace. long live hockey zone ^_^
  2. ive been incredibly busy irl, unfortunately. if someone wants to pick up where i left off, feel free, but i dont have the drive to use what little spare time i have trying to promote someone that subspace apparently doesnt want.

  11. First off, I don't buy the fact that TW is comprised of mainly pre pubescents. Second off, 'leaving matches in a child's bedroom' is probably one of the worst analogies you could have come up with for a comparison like this. VOLUNTARY INTERNET RADIO does not set houses on fire, destroy thousands of dollars in property damages, kill people, and/or ruin families and lives. TW thinks that eliminating individual choices under the guise of 'protecting the youth' is A-OK. It is not. You might think that your policy is admirable. It is not. You seem to think that your zone is populated by a bunch of children. It is not. It has been proven numerous times that without zone support, an idea like this WILL fail, so don't give me this bullshit 'oh you can still advertise it yourself in pub', because you know damn well that anyone would immediately think 'oh whats this trash, omg stfu spamming' and not tune in at all. I'm not asking you to support racism. I'm asking you to let your players make their own choices. Is that so difficult?
  12. I personally think it is UNETHICAL for administrators to not even let their players make their own decisions.
  13. Aside from commenting on game longevity, I do think that TW is being inappropriately totalitarian with this.
  14. Irrelevant THANKS DEZMOND hi5
  15. Exactly, and all of them use them for a REASON, not just for the sake of cursing.
  16. ^ thats what im worried about. System of a Down, Protest The Hero, or even some techno songs have 'bad' language..
  17. No one said anything about cRap or terrible emo music..
  18. Its not solely for the purpose of sharing music. Its about creating a community that represents all of Subspace, for once in this game's history. I'm not talking about playing explicit music for the sake of explicit music. I'm talking about letting the music say what it will, without bleeping out words. I don't understand why it is so difficult to let your players make their own decisions. If they are offended, they can tune out.
  19. At the same time I don't see why it is such a terrible thing to support something that isn't aimed at people who are offended by such language. They're aren't forcefully subjected to it. If they have a problem with it, then they don't listen to it. I can understand ingame censorship, but something as voluntary as listening to internet radio? Are you serious?
  20. I completely disagree. The only common factor I see is that TW still wants to try and instill a retarded sense of morality in anything they put their name next to.
  21. I think that words are in songs for a reason. A lot of bands don't write radio edits purely based on the fact that they have those words in there. Language is important in any artistic discipline, and a radio edit is an edit of the language. Also, do I really want to go through and censor my entire music library? God no. I don't buy music that is censored. I'm a big boy now, I get to listen to bad words. Plus, if a BLACK GUY uses a racial slur about OTHER BLACK GUYS, how is that at all used in a racist context? I would never ever let anything exist on anything I was associated with that had racial intentions. I'm a very tolerant and liberal person. If mainstream black musicians want to refer to themselves as 'niggas', I have absolutely no problem with it. It is entirely their prerogative to refer to themselves any way they want. The context is what is important. Long and short of it being that 50 Cent using word the word 'nigga' is not racist. At all. If you examine the actual usage of the word 'nigger' by those of whom it originally referred to from a sociological perspective, the reason BEHIND it's now common usage is to ELIMINATE the racial power of the word. This is one thing I'm not going to sway on. If language has to be censored, then YOU are missing out by being incredibly close minded and unreasonable but not associating yourself with the SS Radio network. I'll gladly make sure that the fact that the language is raw and real and uncensored is clearly advertised, so anyone who could POTENTIALLY be offended won't have to expose themselves to it. And if there are any DJs who wish to specifically cater to the crowd who are offended by words, I will gladly bring them aboard, to widen the 'demographic' we hope to serve. But as it stands right now, if you require a completely clean radio, then I pity you, and you can just remove yourself from this discussion right now, and let the rest of us move on with progress, and not menial discussion about what is racist or acceptable.
  22. So censor ALL contemporary songs?
  23. Fantastic idea. TW solution found. Ty audrey
  24. Oh and also, its a 1000 listener cap now
  25. Wait, so do all songs have to be the radio edit?
