  1. So, you miss me yet?
  2. I thought I should say something. Just dropping by after Resol PM'd me.
  3. SSCI MERC GROUND WARFARE IS UP
  4. For enter message make sure a line "messages" exists in modules.conf. For keeping your modules attached, edit arena.conf [Modules] AttachModules setting, buy module will need attaching. For flags you need to attach the flag module too, either fg_wz or fg_turf. Double check they are loaded in modules.conf: pymod:pymod fg_wz fg_turf
  5. PHP version/configuration was changed, updated to work and with the latest ASSS zones (btw it can ping subgame zones too). Next time PM me...
  6. You said you want to do gaming and carry it everywhere. I would pick one of those, probably portability (laptops are essential for giving presentations). You can use a desktop or console for gaming. The other catch with portability is the small ones tend to cost more. I've seen people in lectures with Dell x300's, Thinkpad x40's and VAIO's (never saw a model number), I don't know if they're any good though. I also heard those shiny screens aren't very good for graphics work since displaying dark colors turns them into mirrors. I've had my Dell laptop nearly 4 years now. Only problem was the bios kept forgetting the time, but that glitch only lasted a few weeks. It might just depend how well you look after it.
  7. I don't think so. I did make a website that does it but not a ingame version. Something like rss://example.com/news.xml inside the zone description could work. To keep compatibility with existing skins a menu option could be added that pops up a separate dialog for viewing the news (it could use an internet explorer control for rendering). Otherwise a new type could be added to the skin definition for a news area. I think this feature would be client side, not on the server/biller. Basically it's just putting an RSS reader in the front end.
  8. TF2 has a free weekend you could try that instead.

  10. There's a Lost Planet demo that you could have tried, didn't work on my machine but I just !@#$%^&*umed that was because it's old, maybe the game is more advanced than I imagined.
  11. Another opportunity could be that since summer is coming cars are more likely to get covered in dust, although this might not apply where you are. A threat could be due to economic conditions (pick something from the news) people want to save money so don't want to get their cars washed.
  12. Only 2500 words? I was looking at the cached version so missed the "168 pages of code". It would be more sensible to submit in a zip file containing the code and the do!@#$%^&*ent or if they want a hardcopy attach a CD to the report. Of course if the teacher specified differently just do what they say.
  13. If you put it in the opportunities section, then in the weaknesses section you can put customers might prefer a more "local" experience rather than the foreign touch. Cost vs presentation.

    The Grid

If all you have is a hammer everything looks like a nail eh?

    The Grid

I think the author/editor of the article has liberally applied their artistic license to the facts. This seems fair enough for a newspaper, where their business relies on people reading it, so they have to make it interesting. There may be a future for online applications, such as google docs, adobe photoshop/premiere, media convertors. However online applications and the grid are not necessarily the same thing. One downside of online apps is the service provider is free to change the app for better or for worse (like remove some obscure feature used by power users) and they can also discontinue the service for copyright reasons, unprofitable, etc. Actually that reminds me of the incident with flickr where someone didn't know that their settings were marking uploaded images as "reusable" or whatever they call it and were surprised to find it used on billboards.
