  1. Heres some more from 2005 http://imgur.com/a/fQbCw Don't have many after that due to the falling pop
  2. I found some old continuum screen shots on my computer: http://imgur.com/a/ViQwU Anyone else have any to share?
  3. I don't know if its the same problem as the original post, but Continuum completly stopped working for me after I enabled Data Execution Prevention for all programs in System/Advanced/Performance Settings/DEP. Disabling it made Continuum work again -_- There were also a few other strange programs loaded that I disabled, you can look in Task Manager and Google for the name of any programs that look suspicious for advice.
  4. I agree with Stylez, his map (and settings) should be put up for at least a trial period. His map is just simpler and easier. edit: this probably would make more sense in the map thread
  5. The terriers bombs are too powerful, they should be L1 and have less mines. Like before... The weasel...takes too much to kill. I was firing 4 L2 bombs at them yesterday and they still have energy to use afterburners and lay mines. So maybe increasing damage will help. And damage should be fixed to make it easier to learn.
  6. The map is...ok, I like the tiles, and I admit the old one was getting boring. However people knew the old one well, like someone else pointed out it takes a long time to get used to a new map, especially considering some ships work better in small spaces than big ones (eg spider), and these have changed a lot. Maybe this new map will work, but it is a big change, and for example, if you save the ball right next to the south goal, then look at the alt map to see how far you have to go to get it to north goal, in particular with little or no help, its definatly off putting. The ship settings I like less. I only play the warbird. The warbird (to me) is not a great fighter, but its good against cloaked ships and with the ball. It seems to have got a bad deal on this map though: - the burst has less bullets than before, making it harder to shake chasing ships in bases, - antiwarp doesnt seem useful, since i saw hardly any ships using portal - the energy, 1600 is terrible. It hardly takes any damage before blowing up, especially from javelins. This isnt good when you're up against several ships defending a base entrance (for example). Or even just flying though the center when its busy. - brick is useless. i don't like using it anyway, maybe thats just me. i would of prefered even a single mine. - the afterburner is good. - the bombs are faster, which makes it easier but i don't think it was really necessary. Maybe i'll get used to it, maybe not. The other ships I can't really tell, since i dont play them. But in particular the weasel mine is shocking. Its just random lucky killing. At least - take away its prox. Similar problems with terrier I think - its bombs don't take skill, its just random shooting until they kill something. Other things going on, like the bounce rabbit game and bounce for most goals/!@#$%^&*ists are a good idea, they should be permanant. So overall I don't know. Anything that increases pub population is good, but changing the iden!@#$%^&*y of the zone (map and settings), it just seems very risky.
  7. Its happening again, ScoreBot keeps 'evening' teams when there is no need. It just switched me 10 minutes ago when i had ~200 bounty, and then again a few minutes later.. Lets make this clear, there is NO NEED for a team evener in 17th because people come and go all the time. The server automatically puts new people on the weaker team and that is suffcient to keep the teams even on average. All the current scorebot team evener does is piss people off with bad and INCORRECT decisions. Please for the love of god get rid of it
  8. Hmmm. I think the rules for BSS should essentially be: Last surviving squad wins. One death and that player is out. (I think this is what we had the first month). There shouldnt be any time limits; this isn't counterstrike and I don't think its unreasonable for experienced players to spend 30-60 minutes playing to decide the winner. This also gives more time to develop strategy, ambushes, drawing other teams into traps, etc. You could have a time limit if only 1 player remains in all but one or all remaining squads, if you feel really its necessary, although it should still be a decent amount of time and instead you could allow forfeits if one remaining player doesnt want to continue. All teams with at least 5 players should be able to enter, it shouldnt be invitation only. I think this was the rule this month, its good because it encourages participation which 17th needs. Just some thoughts.
  9. Hi, I havent posted here before, and I don't usually talk much in the zone, but recently ScoreBot has been repeatedly changing my team. Just now it did so 4 times in about 45 minutes. This usually happens every day. Obviosly this is super irritating, even more so when less then 5 seconds after changing my team it complains that...the teams are unbalanced again. Or when it changes me to the losing team, 5 seconds before the wining goal. I don't know what idiot programmed ScoreBot, but is there some way to reduce its 'zealosness', so that it either 1) gives players more time to change teams of their own will, especially when team imbalances are caused by people repeatedly joining/leaving (whats with that anyway?) 2) doesnt pick the same player for changing teams more than once, at least in a single game 3) doesnt keep changing its mind about team imbalances (17th doesnt get many players during the day, the teams usually ARE imbalanced, I don't need bloody ScoreBot telling me every 30 seconds). Eh, thanks.
