Well, i was working about 3 weeks ago, and i start to ring up a customer. Turns out he is an owner of a Chevron about a mile away, and he casually asks: "Do you drive?" and of course, i say "yes" then he turns and says, "tell you what, here is my card. come by my gas station" i say, "does this mean i get cheap gas?" (jokingly) to my surprise, he writes on the back of the card "Six cents off fillup. One time. 04/07/08. for Josh." and told me to pay inside and hand the card. Well, it just so happens, i was in the area of his gas station today, and i was low on gas, so i thought i would drop by. (of course i didnt expect to see him there) First thing i hated, i drove around for about 20 minutes to find the place, which is smack dab in the middle of a residential area. second thing, the regular price for gas (or so i thought it was) was $3.57/gal. I go inside and hand the card to the cashier, and she says she cant take it. I ask why. She says, that it's saturday, and gas is already six cents off. (which means the price is regularaly $3.63/gal, which is 16 cents higher than the gas station about 3 minutes away) I say, well he didnt specify that I couldn't use it. She says that they dont take "coupons" when gas is already reduced. That sentence... that ONE sentence, makes me think that he hands his card out with his name and gas station, with the 6 cents off on the back OFTEN. I'm thinking now, what a jerky thing to do. I drive 20 minutes out of my way, to find YOUR gas station, which is 16 cents HIGHER than a gas station just up the road. are you kidding me?! anyways. I also have another story from my stepdad about a bad gas experience. Apparently, he was filling up his tank, when the owners shut off the pumps (WHILE HE WAS PUMPING) bumped up the price, then turned them on. he didnt even WAIT for him to finish pumping!
