  1. doesn't make sense.. when i lost in a battle in any game or in real life, i gain experience.. why would i lose experience for losing a fight?? Does this make sense to anyone else?
  2. we dont need another map editor *SLAP*
  3. Exactly what I think. Trench wars for ASSS + new staff. I doubt that. If there is a development problem, it's not for a lack of "tools." There are many possibilities with just a few simple mervbot plugins, for example, that even the most popular zones haven't tapped into. The most popular zones are hardly taking advantage of what they have available now with Continuum as opposed to Subspace, so what makes you think they'll take advantage of the possibilities of ASSS? Very true. Actually, if you make a good ASSS zone your pretty much guarenteed instant SSC because we're trying to PUSH ASSS. If you want to 'save subspace' learn create ASSS modules.
  4. So who's not sleeping or eating becoming 'tweaked into the oneness' & programming this core? You should be done soon.
  5. I'm not a programmer that would be my brother he will help when he gets out (XaNiTH). But I believe java would be better because it's multiplatform ALTHOUGH I hear Wine is upgraing everyday and similar applications are rising. So, with that in mind i believe C would be the best bet. Because, lets face it, it's powerful. (and my brother's prolly too arrogant to help with java)
  6. Subspace fuels your ego. You start off killing and that feels good. Then you see people noticing your rec, you feel better. Then you join a squad and feel great! next comes a good year to infinity of playing in squad matches.. Now for many the craving for egofuel gets worse maybe because they suck at leagues. So they say "i can make a zone?" or "i can be staff in a zone?" "i can have SYSOP POWERS??" (or mod or smod in a large zone is still egofueling) people looove to hire newbies who crave power for event ref's and helpers, their so ambitious, look at tw
  7. when you open up firefox or internet explorer and type ?go google LOL!
  8. I suggest creating the core like smong said. Don't be a slacker either. The most experianced coder or team or coders that work well together, should create this core. Remember sniper? It started off without many of the features & got tweaked while online play was going on. Just secure the client to handle: Zones (!@#$%^&*s zones too) Profiles, Zones, options (all the lobby features) Connection to server Just start with non-upgradable ship1! we don't care! just make SOMETHING for people to contirubute to 9goto shanky forums with this) we need to develop continuum.. and simply call it Continuum II because Juan allready made that elite logo. http://www.allinjuan.com/subspacetwo1.htm Chat is a must, & all the chat features, COPY & paste this from chat clients, I'm sure you can get some good code for the rest of the client or at leaste chat and connection out of it too all the commands, all of them, (theres not too many!) support for sub-arenas (test multiple new things) OOOO ez to use "run your own zone" button like unreal tournament & a ZONE folder in your continuum folder for your server files finally what you must do is take a popular zone (with permission) or just create a fun game you can come to me for this i will keep it to a BARE minimum of features you must impliment for the gameplay because there has to be something to flawlessly PLAY for players to come and stay for testing purposes
  9. I can model them..
  10. I'm doing this with ASSS.
  11. Edit > Preferances > Guides, Grids & Slices. Make it 16x16 and light red (only one that's easy on the eyes) There you have your 16x16 grid, make the subdivisions = 16 also. (so theres a grid box for every pixel aswell. When your ready to convert, simply create a new image, 204 x 160 (in pixels) make background black and paste in your tiles (RGB Color mode).. When ready, goto Image > Mode > Indexed color. Save as .bmp in 8bit (only one it allows you to save as). Open up tileedit and hit File > Open ..Then click on 'Files of type' Below, and click Windows Bitmaps. Import your newly created image then hit File > Save, and go back down to 'Save as type' and click Subspace Level.. save it and import it with ssme This is the most effective way because it creates it's own color pallette, since many of the color pallettes are out-of-whack with continuum's colors, this way of converting maximizes output. There are MANY tricks/tips with Photoshop i can teach when it comes to tilesets (even lvz)
