  1. oh, good deal. i'll try a search then. :]
  2. i apologize if there's already a thread for this, but the search is busted. kept getting a php/sql parsing error. so anyway, i was wondering if any of you fine, talented graphics artists would be kind enough to make me a banner that is an acoustic guitar. after several miserably failed attempts, i've given up. all mine ending up looking like fat turds.
  3. Physics pisses me off. It's all educated guesses pulled out of educated !@#$%^&*es. We're not sure of any of it.

    Linux Idea

I'm definitely skeptical of those statistics, basically because of what Dr Brain mentioned, "Now, are those figures balanced by how much of a percentage the server group represented?". I mean, no -*BAD WORD*- there haven't been many successful Mac OSX attacks... no one's bothering to attack in the first place. And the same goes for FreeBSD. Linux has a much larger market-share than FreeBSD/Mac OSX, so logic would dictate it's going to be subject to more attacks. In conclusion, statistics are evil. They're too selective in the information they present, and context, which is key, is most often ignored.
  5. I get the that message when entering HZ with SubChat, but I don't get booted and I can chat just fine indefinitely.
  6. Nothing will ever top ZippyDan's font. Everyone's just so -*BAD WORD*- used to it. =p

When at the main screen of the client, highlight Trench Wars in the zone list and hit Ctrl+T. That will run a traceroute from your machine to the TW server. Hit the export button, which will save the results in a txt file. Copy and paste the results here, and we'll see where the problem is.
  8. Cygwin and gcc all the mother-*BAD WORD*-in' way baby! I need to get a linux box built so I can stop -*BAD WORD*-ing with cygwin and just go straight gcc. :/
  9. It's pretty much the same, only the one in SSI TWDev Testing is touched up a bit and more complete overall.
  10. If you want ideas for a race type track, go to SSI TWDev Testing and ?go rally. Don't even think about simply copying the map. Ari and SuperDave put a ton of work into it, and they'd cut your balls off if you ripped their work.
  11. Hockey Zone will let you in as well. That's where I hang out when I'm using SubChat.
  12. Indeed. I agree wholeheartedly with cypher. Use someone else's bandwidth for something as superfluous as a buddy list.
  13. D1st0rt, you really need to draw up more explicit plans before you can expect anyone to want to help you out. You have a very vague outline at the moment, which is discouraging to those would could potentially be of service.
  14. Dude, just add these buddies to your messaging program of choice (AIM, ICQ, MSN, etc) and have it agreed upon between all of you that whenever someone logs onto SS, they also logon to their IM client and send a message to everyone they see that's currently online. As long as no one has an away message up, the message should kick everyone's Continuum client into alt-tab mode, and voila! You're notified of your buddies logging into the game. :] Personally, I say screw adding on to the chat capabilities of SS. It's already got one of the best chat systems of any MMOG I've ever seen. Let's see new gameplay features instead!
  15. I hear you cypher. ssdude1> need website, help plz? ssdude2> can you make me a site? ssdude3> want to rework my site, want to help out? ssdude4> got a little dev project going, you in? client1> i like the design but i want this this this this and this feature can you have that done by next friday? my mom> You're living here free of charge. Get off your -*BAD WORD*-, away from that -*BAD WORD*- computer and do something around the -*BAD WORD*- house for me! It wouldn't kill you to vacuum once a week or something! [EDIT] No offense to those who have discussed websites with me. I have offered my services to a few, and I'm not referring to those few in the above little ditty. I do get at least four or five newbies a week, people whom I've never heard of, asking me to make them a personal site though. Talk about mother-*BAD WORD*-ing annoying. Some of the dev projects I don't mind working on, but I usually end up working on them with people who don't know what they are doing and just get in the way or ask stupid questions. And then there's this one client I'm working with (Yeah, a paying customer! Woo! =p) who basically wants me to write a ridiculously complex CMS for the website I designed for him, and he wants the site to launch a week from now. Do I look like superman? Okay, enough ranting. -*BAD WORD*- that felt good though. :] [/EDIT]
