    Proxy

MSN, kazaa, etc... use TCP, continuum uses UDP. I have never found anything that will work for me. You might try using SOCKS2HTTP.
  2. No don't use that one... Use Kerio firewall... Free, Easy, Secure... Also tastes good on a tuna melt...
  3. Why? Interested in ripping off a zone?
  4. Rofl'ing my pants off
  5. SOunds like a hardware problem... (sounds.... LOL)
  6. MMMMmmmm...... Doughnuts.... What video card and drivers are you using? Did this problem just start, or has it always happened... If it just started, what have you done to your computer lately to have caused it?
  7. Yeah... CTM connects to socks2http running on my machine using a the socks5 proxy option... socks2http converts it to http and transfers it to a proxy outside the firewall. This proxy converts it back to socks5 which is then sent to a socks5 proxy which then converts it to a game packet... Hmm at least thats what I think it does... anyways, the only thing allowed in and out of most college networks is HTTP anyways...
  8. Look up a program called Socks2HTTP... then find someone with a socks2http proxy... if you find one, let me know cause im in the same situation...
  9. that'd be pretty Easy, but Im tied up in other projects right now, sorry...
  10. so then they wouldn't usse it...
  11. that doesn't sound very hard... but I don't have time right now...
  12. you could just tell the players that anyone caught using it will be banned... and then enforce it... just kidding, that would never work... I think the idea about setting the energy used above max is great...
  13. You could just make the client download the un hacked dlls every single time.... or mabye just download the entire game everytime... I like it! I am brilliant! No, but seriously, it's like system security... I can make my system completely secure by turning it off and disconnecting all cabling and dismantleing it... no one could hack that... but it reduces functionality. As soon as I want to turn it on, I open up holes. When my webserver starts, I open holes... If I want to share files, I open holes... There is no way to get around this... As soon as you implement this dll thing, you will open up holes in the security... comes with the territory... the best protection would be allowing the server to run code on the client's machine. then in the middle of a long EULA, put it in text since no one reads that. Then if anyone tries to cheat, you can fix em for good. (dumb idea, I know, but effective...) you could even make all of the other online clients ddos the cheater, or give him a virus, or format his HD, or any other number of 'punishments.' Problem is, absolute power corrupts absolutely, so everyone would abuse this. My solution... there is none... new security updates will come out, new hacks will come out... just got to keep pluggin away.... In this stance I think the dll idea is a good one because it will help speed up the development of continuum.
  14. Hmmm.... No it's not right, but the RIAA has become more than it needs to be and needs to be put back in it's place... They get over half of the money you pay for each CD, I would rather pay the artist all 15-20$
