Almost a kill from a repped thor on 7th. 5:20 - Bad positioning from FTNguyen results in a FR. 7:55 - Legacy in big trouble but WARPS to evade. 9:58 - BARBARIAN forced to rep 10:15 - Chase starts on Village Bike but he narrowly gets away and survives a thor. 11:05 - Legacy gets in a bad spot and has to rep 11:30 - Village Bike floating in boxes and gets semi-rep killed 12:08 - ozn gets chased hard after pblanking a wall, finally resulting in a kill after lots of dodging and a 0 dmg pblank emp. 14:10 - Chase on FTNguyen fails. 15:10 - FTNguyen killed. 15:50 - Legacy has a terrible bounce and positioning and pays for it.\ 18:37 - Village Bike gets dumped on. 19:21 - Legacy forced to repel again looks like it may have been for a teammate. 21:50 - Village Bike forced to rep again, setting up a kill on Legacy as well. 22:50 - 7th goes down. 23:29 - BARBARIAN has to rep. 25:10 - Legacy reps late and dies out first. 26:10 - Village Bike chased down and goes out. Followed up by a kill on FTNguyen. 27:45 - Chase on FTNguyen almost dies. Has to burn a rep and rockets. 28:35 - BARBARIAN killed. 29:05 - FTNguyen chased again, goes into boxes and repped in for the kill. Video goes on some more after that but mostly not interesting BARBARIAN running.

Would it be possible to arrange a season such that lower tier teams play each other twice in the season, only playing the higher tiered teams once, and obviously higher tiered teams play each other twice. This would extend the season I imagine but may make things more interesting? It is basically AML/PRO split but AML still faces PRO teams at least once.
  7. What about a slight tweak to the prac rules then? Previously on the bots I believe you could choose which 4v4 rules to play in (12 deaths per slot, etc).I personally think the first to 12 is better as the name of this game is 4v4 right? Pros for current format: - It is fun to win a 4v3, 4v2, 4v1 comeback - It is what we have always played Pros for first to 12 - Everyone stays in longer, giving newbies more of a chance. - Each slot is less important than the overall teamwork. The cons listed for first to 12 are typically: - It is different - Someone can ruin prac by suiciding over and over and ending game. Addressing it is different: - If we can choose to play/prac traditional 4v4 is it a problem? !ready 12 vs !ready Addressing ruin prac: Perhaps there is a way in pracs to mitigate the suiciders and allow even more people into pracs? Assemble a team of 4. Captain can !allowsub players. Once a slot has 3 deaths, the player is specced and the first allowsub is given 15 seconds to sub in before moving to the next person registered in !allowsub? Beyond that a bad player will ruin your prac even harder if given only 3 lives to instantly die out in. Not saying these are good ideas, just throwing them out there to get people thinking about ways to bring some new ideas in instead of just saying "X is bad. Never change."
  8. The league map has changed before, the ship settings have changed numerous times, the rules have changed as well. I am not advocating changing the map necessarily just offering a counterpoint.
  9. I hate comparing competitive video games to other competitive video games but let's entertain it for a second. Counter Strike, Starcraft, Team Fortress, etc... all feature different maps which require different tactics. I bet one of the main reasons football, soccer, baseball etc don't have different "fields" (which for baseball is already not entirely accurate) is because it costs millions of dollars to create them and takes up actual real estate. My 4 cents.

  11. Hi, After a bunch of talk about how to make the existing league better in chat and on the forum I decided to propose this as another approach. I will try to lay out the argument for why I believe this will be a good idea and how I see it working. Open to any suggestions, other than telling me the idea won't ever work. Other people were mentioning draft league as well so maybe someone can write something up on that. Basic ideas: Runs in parallel to the uber elite Premier League 4v4. ** Don't detract from the importance of the long season historical super competitive Sunday league. ** Right now there are many pracs every day, this gives a way to have a "meaningful" competitive match outside of the prac system or sunday only system. Perhaps encourages people to stack less in pracs? Doubtful but who knows. * Rankings based on ERAT only. ** The idea will be to make the best teams play each other more often for higher ERAT payoff. Or they can grind up defeating beastfu over and over. ** Might need to place a weekly limit on number of times Team A and Team B can face each other. ** Need ERAT decay for inactivity in the top ranked teams to promote activity. This is similar to how League of Legends handles the top ranked player ratings. * Fully automated challenge system. Team A and Team B agree to play, becomes a ranked match up. ** Fluid schedule, drive activity throughout the week in anticipation of the top dog Premier League 4v4 matchups on Sunday. * 8 man rosters. No roster lock. Some arbitrary time to sit between switching teams ( 1 week? ) ** Apparently some of the trench wars leagues use this, but I think with a shorter team switch duration (48hrs). ** Help drive team fluidity instead of hopefully always playing with same people. ** Not locked into a team for 16 weeks or however long a season lasts. ** Hopefully makes it easier for smaller teams since the matches aren't on a fixed schedule. ** Inactive players can be dropped and rejoin so there isn't a need for larger rosters. ** Teams/Players with limited time can still play competitively and not create noshows, 3v4s etc. Some other potential ideas that I haven't thought about as much: * Allowed One Non Team Sub - Maybe some vets can help some lesser teams? * Does there need to be some kind of reset / playoffs? Or should it just be perpetual? * Could this be a place to trial minor setting tweaks to see how they might work in premier league?
