Samapico Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 Here's a very handful program that someone brought up on these forums. I don't know exactly who did the program because I lost the original 'readme' file... I wrote a new one to explain how to use it. Logmaker will add ?log dd.mm.yyyy.log to the 'automessage' textbox of the names you want. This makes archiving of logs much easier and you doN't file yourself with 15MB log files that takes 2 minutes to open up in wordpad... If anyone still has the original 'readme' file for that thing, please send it to me. If anyone knows the name of the author of that program, please let me know. Thanks to SOS for fixing the file extension problem.
»SOS Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 The only problem is that it doesn't add .log or .txt extensions to the file. And now it does By the way, I think you should amend the readme to say that prerelease exes will have to be renamed to continuum.exe, since that's what it runs.Logmaker_fixed.zip
Samapico Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 ... great! ... i'll do that... Never used prereleases versions, didn't know about that.
Smong Posted February 6, 2005 Report Posted February 6, 2005 How do you make xp search non-standard files for text? I can't search inside source code for example.
Samapico Posted February 6, 2005 Author Report Posted February 6, 2005 I checked the .txt class in my registry, and copied everything there was there into the .2004 and .2005 classes in that case.Take a look at those pictures: I updated the attachment in the first post and resubmitted it to subspacedownloads... I guess it should be available there pretty soon

Or do you have the source... somehow

»SOS Posted February 7, 2005 Report Posted February 7, 2005 Well, basically I just added the .log in there with a hex edtior. Just like with notepad, only the exe still runs
