why doesnt the program work?

when i try to start my continuum it gives a fatal error

but i checked the viruscontrol, spyware programs and deleted them and got no firewall installed so i supposed to play it by then.

But the luck is not on my side and still not works

 

by the way the error code is: 000000d4

installed on a computer with windows XP with NORMAN antivirus program

 

I hope somebody can give me a solution, because the game is very addictive

Re-install/install the latest DirectX and drivers for your hardware.

 

Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get all critical, optional and hardware updates.

i have installed the latest update of windows and directx v9, but make no diffence.

so i still cant play and getting the error code: 0000004d

what else could cause this error?

Has the game worked before you did this update?

XP has a firewall try shuting this off. (are you using SP1 or SP2 )

Have you tryed system restore? Pick a day before you did the update.

continuumm has been on this computer but with windows 98

since ive upgraded it it wont work anymore

is it true that as i delete all updates it wil work again?

I knew you had XP do to the update.

 

XP has its own firewall so you may have to add the game.

You do this in windows security center.

 

Click on start go to programs look in accessories you will find systems tools.

 

From there click security center at the bottom you will see Internet options & automatic updates & windows firewall.

 

Click on windows firewall "from there click on exceptions Its here you will see if the game is listed. If not you have to add it by clicking add program.

 

If this does not work shut off windows firewall then try the game.

Just another iteratation to show that update windows sucks. Fresh installs are always more stable than updates on top of an existing OS.

im pretty sure that the error i get when i get impatient and CTM tries to spawn several wondows at once. Do you see it along with continum running? if so ignore it just means windows cant spawn more then one instance by double clicking the icon multiple times.

look all i do is start my computer up wait till it is there and then i start continuum just ONCE and wait till something happens but all i get is that lousy error.

and if i press OK it disappears but continuum will not start.

 

I am really getting out of solutions, except to refresh windows but thats the last resort.

I did what you sayed but system restore wouldn't help.

and deleting my updates will not help only my computer will be slower

deleting the updates was your idea not mine. Anyway have you tryed downloading a new copy of the game after you remove the old one?
