»Purge Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Here you will find all of the active zone hosts that host either ASSS or subgame zones. Some hosts are capable of hosting both ASSS and subgame as presented below. Keep in mind that this application is not viewable by all zone hosts, so consulting a zone host directly is the best option. A description and a screen shot of the map. The map is what players see when they go to your zone. They want a preview to interest them. What style of settings are you implementing? Are they fast? Slow? SVS? One shot kill? Super? Something unique (highly recommended)? Then post that! What's the point of your zone? Is there a storyline? What are players supposed to be doing when they're there? Is there a theme? What kind of bots do you use, if any? How many are you planning to use? Some hosts don't like too many bots or won't host bots. What kinds of extra features do you have that might intrigue potential players? LVZ? ASSS? List them! Think of this as a job application. You're trying to impress us so that we'll come to you. Quote
Aceflyer Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 I think there may be some inaccuracies in your post. In no particular order: SSC BILLING ENABLED: >>> It would probably be more accurate to just list freakmonger for SSCC, after all he is the server owner and general administrator. As far as hosting goes I believe freakmonger is the person to talk to for SSCC (SSCC admins please correct if my impression is incorrect).>>> Hoch owns SSCI but does not administrate it; it is administrated by Death+.>>> As far as I know, Confess+ owns SSCW but no longer administrates it; it is administrated by Chambahs.>>> SSCC also hosts zones off SSC billing using no prefix. Reference Digital Core. (Or is that a one-time-only special case?)>>> You are leaving out SSCE (which is an ASSS host)... NON-SSC ENABLED: >>> You are leaving out B_M network & server by blue_monday.>>> You are leaving out CZ network & server by Cheese.>>> You are leaving out PSS network & PSSF server by doc flabby.>>> You are leaving out SC server by Screennam123. »Purge Posted July 28, 2008 Author Report Posted July 28, 2008 Thanks. I'm leaving out B_M because it appears to be inactive. Quote
Aceflyer Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Thanks. I'm leaving out B_M because it appears to be inactive. Sounds good. Thanks Purge. Just one thing: I wasn't aware Snrrrub helps administrate SSCW now? Last I heard from Chambahs, Snrrrub's completely unaffiliated with SSCW... Quote
L.C. Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 Oh, and also BlueT provides webhosting to zones if needed. Quote
Aceflyer Posted July 28, 2008 Report Posted July 28, 2008 FYI: Chambahs just confirmed that Snrrrub doesn't administrate SSCW. Quote
»Lynx Posted July 29, 2008 Report Posted July 29, 2008 Snrrrub provides hosting, but as far as I know he doesn't require a tag. -Lynx Quote
»Purge Posted July 29, 2008 Author Report Posted July 29, 2008 Fixed. I'm also curious if BlueGoku is actually available for hosting other ASSS zones on SSCE. My initial thought was that he wouldn't, which is why I didn't add SSCE to the list. Quote
L.C. Posted October 19, 2008 Report Posted October 19, 2008 BlueT updates: * We no longer support ASSS hosting of any kind due to the inability to update the server software and libraries (there is no safe way to update the entire operating system for core libraries, as the server is supportless by its datacenter).* We will only be supporting MERVBot hosting for BlueT hosted zones with a limit of one spawn per BlueT zone. Service to non-BlueT zones will not be provided. Quote

»Lynx Posted May 17, 2009 Report Posted May 17, 2009 I can provide asss hosting for any development zones, including FTP/SSH access and HTTP hosting. Full MySQL support, and testing PostGreSQL database too. Also, if you'd want SSC hosting after, I can provide that in my zone as a sub-zone. However, any hosting under my SSC zone would mean postgres databases only. I can also provide MERVBot spawns on WINE and I'll expect that you have some Linux knowledge, and asss knowledge as you'll be setting everything up on your own. Whatever you do is up to you, abuse it and you lose it. -Lynx Quote
»Lynx Posted May 25, 2009 Report Posted May 25, 2009 SSL, but I don't mind if a zone wants to use their own prefix, or no prefix at all. Users will be given a limited access user account on my Lenny server, which will have asss, MERV and web folders setup. This saves time, and bandwidth in sending files etc. You'll also be able to use the server to store any subspace related content. There is also access within FTP to a lot of useful MERV plugins, and asss code. The server will have 99.9% uptime on my end, including scripts to relaunch it if your code crashes it. I'm happy for you to use other things like AP_Multipub, provided you let me know what ports you're going to be using - and as I said I provide SSH so you can do all of your compiles on the server. This saves you needing to use a virtual machine for asss etc. Unless you have a domain name, everything will be under my personal website sub-domain. i.e. yoursite.krslynx.com. Again, I'm happy to host your domain name too, if that helps. If you're new to asss, and want to learn more I'm also willing to spend some time explaining things as best as I can, however as I work a hell of a lot, this will mainly be via e-mail. E-Mail me: krslynx[ at ]gmail[ d0t ] com for any further information. -Lynx Quote

L.C. Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Could someone please update the OP? Also, please move BlueT up into the SSC section. Thanks! Quote
»Purge Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Updated the list and made it current. Does Snrrrub still manage SSCA? I'm leaving up PSS since Doc Flabby still posts. Quote
L.C. Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Oh, I might make one more update to BlueT's profile. Could you change the link from http://wiki.ssforum.net/index.php/BlueT to http://www.hlrse.net/subspace.php? Thanks! EDIT: Hah, kidding you -- one more: Change:MySQL available through free webhosting To:MySQL, PostgreSQL, Trac and SVN available through free webhosting Edited February 9, 2010 by L.C. Quote
Hakaku Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Snrrrub still manages SSCA, yes, but I would remove it from the list since he's not actively hosting anyone anymore. Btw L.C., do you provide ASSS hosting on Windows or Linux, or either? Might want to note that. Quote
»Purge Posted February 9, 2010 Author Report Posted February 9, 2010 Updated. I'll leave SSCA up with a note near Snrrrub's name to note its activity. It's on the directory servers still, so people may have some questions. Quote
Hakaku Posted February 9, 2010 Report Posted February 9, 2010 Well yes, Devastation's on the directory server list, and there are a few SSA zones up not on the list. He's still hosting the same zones he was hosting prior to his leave from SubSpace, but he's inactive and not taking in any new zones. And due to his inactivity I would strongly recommend against anyone getting hosted by him, this coming from the sysop of the only SSCA zone still up. Quote
