Asymmetrical lag?

Lag noob here, I'm wondering how everything can look fine on my screen (smooth, no jumps at all) while I look jumpy to others? Is it my poor upload speed in comparison to my down? (40mb down vs .7mb up) Or is the culprit the fact that when I do a trace I get 75-80% loss on the hopone servers?

My wife wants to get a macbook pro which I thought was a great idea until I though "hey what if continuum dooesn't work." This is really the deciding factor for me. Will I be able to use continuum or will I have unnecessary difficulty in using it on a macbook.

All of a sudden ss won't load?

Was playing all morning, then all of a sudden after exiting the game, can't load it up again. Just hangs with an hourglass, cpu usage goes to 100%, no applications found running on CTRL-ALT-DEL, I see continuum.exe bouncing around on processes though. Uninstalled, reinstalled -- same thing. Help?

I recently repurposed the ye olde tyme desktop I used to play subspace on. Switched to a new win7 machine. My profile password did not transfer with continuum. Is there any way an admin or mod could reset my password so I can get my account back?

SSCU/SSCX is currently experiencing multiple router issues causing various zones to appear down for some players. We sadly have no control over this, but will keep you updated on when it resolves. -PoLiX

i set init and max guns or bombs l4 or just max and instead of giving l4 or upgrading to it i get NO WEAPONS AT ALL why is this? ive noticed however that holding a powerball gives lv4 guns/bombs from lvl 3 tho about flags:ive searched forum etc and i cant figure out my problem D: Edit:problem flags arent apearing. my arena conf in the modules section. I open up an SSH connection with a local tunnel port set to 8080. In Continuum, I "Enable Socks 5 Proxy Server" and enter in 127.0.0.1 as host and 8080 as port. I hit OK. I get an error: SOCKS error 4 (00000201) Check proxy configuration FYI, I am at college. Shell works, but Continuum doesn't. (All zones appear offline.) I startup Putty like this (some parameters omitted): "C:\Program Files\Putty\puttytray.exe" -P 22 -D 8080

Something wrong with the zone refresh servers or zones in genereal? My zones won't refresh and the only zones I can enter is lame one like trench wars. My fav hyperspace won't work. Is there a problem with the servers?

No sounds

So i just installed my vista again and I installed continuum back, but noticed that it didn't have any sounds at all. Not the starting lightning effect, no menu clicking sounds and no in-game sounds. From options I have checked that my sound mode is on and quality is default. Also that my speakers are on and I hear all other sounds fine. Tried to re-install it also. Anyone got a clue? Also noticed that if I put 3D sound effects on, i hear them (shooting and bombs), but cant hear anything else (pouncing from wall, engine sounds etc..). I just want to hear my flagbell timer. Please help.

I think i've brought this up before. BUT: I try to access any menu: It will cause every program on my computer to: And it only does this when i open continuum, and it stops when continuum process has ended. And even then some programs still have the problem (Right now FFX is fine, but MSN and Skype having menu problems) also: it did this before. On a previous XP installation. THIS IS A NEW XP INSTALL. ALso: New Continuum install as well.. did that on the fresh install. Also: Did it off of all versions of .40 from all sites (getcont.com, ssforum, etc.) This is one of the reasons why you rarely see me in game anymore, because im too lazy and i just dont car…

i downloaded continuum and then made a new profile. i put my password and i played trenchwars. while loading it says invalid password for specific user. the name you entered maybe used by another player, in which case you should try another name. Otherwise, check your password. i tried all sorts of names after that. and it still doesnt work even if i banged the keyboard on the floor. need help!

Well.. it used to work, but now it just pops up with the busy cursor for a split second and exits. Even with an uninstall/reinstall. Continuum .40 from getcontinuum.com. What can I try? Too lazy to try and figure it out myself. Thanks.

Continuum won't start

Hey guys, So i have been running SS for some time now on vista, however recently when i double click continuum the loading circle pops up for about 1 second then nothing. No thunder noise or ship select, i check the processes in task manager but nothing shows up. I have tried some recomended solutions such as installing continuum in other folders such as C:\ and renaming the executable. If anyone can offer me some advice it'd appreciate. -Thanks

subgame2.exe has a bug that makes it output each log line as two lines since 2010 The problem has been patched by divine.216, see this topic for the patched file and a more detailed explanation. SSDL package and such should probably be updated with the patched exe subgame is now up to date

"Unable to retrieve new zone listing. Make sure you are using one or more valid directory server addresses. (example: sscentral.subspace.net). Also, make sure you are currently connected to the internet. Well, i got these directory servers there now: ssdir.playsubspace.com, sscentral.sscuservers.net, dirserver.ssnecentral.net, ds1.hlrse.net and still nothing =/ tried to uninstall n install a few times but nothing. Okay apparently my bro heard something about this thing called 'Big Bullets' which I gues smakes the bullets easier to see? But anyway he downloaded and replaced the bullets file in graphics and now everytime I try to play it won't let me cause it says Failed to load graphics file bullets.bm2. I really need some help guys idk what to do.
