I NEED HELP

i have a huge problem and i dont know how to fix it, i have played ss for 6 years and never have had problems like this... ok, i have a linksys wireless router that i am connected to and there are 3 other comps on it. i have NEVER had these problems, i do not know why i cant get into conti anymore, i was in my router settings the other day and i might ahve changed something because continuum wont play on any of the computers. the zonelist shows PINGs of around anywhere from 200 at lows to 20000 and i have seen tehm all maxed out at 60000... sometimes they hang around 4000, i do not understand, now for the interesting part, when i go to the trace feature on conti i see …

Unable to retrieve zone listing

I'm having problems with my zone listing, I can't refresh it anymore. Everytime I try to add a zone the normal way, I get this message Now I have searched the forums for help, but the 2 existing topics say the same thing; which is to get rid of firewall. I have Zone Alarm, but it's never caused a problem before and this happened in the recent days. Even if I turn it off, the list won't work. I currently use pre-release, working on Windows 98. I don't want to download the zones manually, so any help?

When I started playing SS again about 2 weeks ago, after not opening it for a couple months, Continuum started using up 99% of CPU resources when it's active. It shouldn't be doing this, as I have a blazingly fast processor. When I alt-tab out, it takes up a more reasonable chunk of CPU resources, something like 15%. Any ideas on why this is happening, and what I can do?

Mayvbe it's because it's early in the morning or maybe it's because I haven't had any coffee yet, but can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm trying to creat a new profile and I keep getting the message, "The profile 'Name' has no player name. Please give yourself a name to login with." Well I fill in both the Profile and Name areas, but I still cannot creat the profile. Thanks

I know this may sound a little vague as I don't even know what happened myself. So I was playing SSIE Halo and suddenly a moderator warned me about "doubleclienting". I told him I didn't but he wouldn't believe me. He said that I was playing as my account and as "jokerzero". After a large arguement, he believed me. He suspects that I may have been hacked since since according to him we were sharing the same ip. By the way, only I play this game, my friends don't even touch my computer. I just bought a new video card (Radeon X1600) from a (GeForoce 440 MX). I was able to double my fps, but now I get horrible frame spikes. Like every 10 seconds the game will stutter. Has anyone ever expirenced this after installing a new video card?

I have winxp and on saturday when trying to get into arenas such as tw's ww3 and mg ctf pub cont 39pr1 would just freeze. Can't alt-tab out or ctrl+shift+esc. After a few minutes it comes back to normal, but disconnected from the server. I can enter the arena fine and see a player list, even ships, but very soon after it just freezes.

Well. I came here before about this, but something else just happened that was weird. I have a problem with something. When I am in game, at certin points, randomly my client will enter into a ?go (entering arena screen) which will never end until I exit. But after being in a zone a sysop asked me how I got the illegal bounty. He said he recieved a red sysop warning when I got disconnected last time in my endless loop of ?go Any solution?

I have tried for the past 2 days to enter however it continues to say that I have an invalid password or account. I have tried everything from gibberish to writing my name in roman letters for a foreign language. Then after about 5 times it wont let me try anymore for the remainder of the day. I am not a newbie. I used to play alot a few years ago and had my own squad. However no matter what I try it wont let me in. Could it be because of my antivirus software is interfering, downloaded wrong version(.38), or that I have a firewall up with high speed internet? hi, i play in EG and i have been reciving high packet loss in the last few days ( usuely over 15% ) . i have cable connection and it isnt wireless so the problem isnt comming from there, i have run spyware over and over again hoping that might be the problem now here is the weird part of it, i dont have any packetloss whatsoever in Trench wars, i have spoken to sypos from EG and since the whole sscx crashing and pointman managing to get us a replacement server, eg server is the same is trench war server, meaning they are the same server. so how come i get huge packet loss from eg and no packet loss whatsoever from trench wars? i have included the trace. help will…

Ok.. I have a big problem.. and no one can figure it out.. so maybe someone on this forum can help me.. When i try to log in, into any zone.. something always pops up saying something about a lvl thing... For example.. the main zone i "USED" to play in is T3 The Gauntlet.. and when i try logging into it.. it starts loading the zone and then it exits itself and a pop up.. pops up.. and says "Unable to create zones\T3 The Gauntlet! My brother just installed Windows 2000 on his Compaq Presario 700 Notebook, and cannot find the video driver. The card in the notebook is factory, but we dont know how to find out what kind of card it is. Weve tried typing in the product key at the compaq site, but it dont have a driver listed under the 700 series. So, for now until someone can help, were stuck with 16bit color, help anyone?

I have a Speedtouch 330 external modem that's plugged into the back of my PC through USB. I have been using this modem for about a year but yesterday it started to crash my PC, I know its not the USB ports because i have plugged other USB devices into it and the PC works fine. I am using that same modem now on another PC and it's working fine. I was told to reinstall the software so I done that and instead of my PC crashing, it restarts the PC instead. I've started the PC without the modem in and plugged it in when its booted up but it still does the same thing. I'm lucky if the PC loads while its booting up with the modem plugged in. OK I was playing a few min ago and then i got disconnected from a server. when I tried to go back in continumm, it said: FATAL ERROR, and a bunch of errors, and I cant get rid of the continumm folder, so i tried getting it agn. so I did but every time i try to go into it it says: fatal error, and then a bunch of numbers. anyone know wuts wrong?
