Connection lost to server, wine

Well I got everything to install.... The program loads, but when I try to connect to a server (and I have tried all of them) the connection is lost to server each time... anyone having this problem or know of a solution? Thanks

Everytime i open up cont, everything is fine. I enter zones, no problem. But everytime i leave a zone, and my zone list comes up. All zones are red, and stay red. Then i have to exit the client, and re-open it. Then they all turn green again. Its starting to get annoying.

I don't know why, but if I'm in Hyperspace for any random amount of time the zone will crash on me, and SSCE will completely go red for a few minutes (sometimes half an hour). eehh so why does SSCE keep going offline for me ;/

Getting kicked for low FPS

I can play for about 2 minutes or so and suddenly I start getting really, really low FPS and about 30 secs after, I get kicked (from MetalGear). It's not my CPU, it's a Core2Duo. The game always starts out normal and goes almost exactly the same length of time before the FPS suddenly drops. After that, the only way to get it back to normal is to reboot. My video card is an nVidia GeForce 8500 GT. The only thing I can think that might have affected it is that around the same time the problem started up, I installed the CUDA drivers for the card. ive been playing subspace on and off for about 7/8 years now.... and ive never known it like it is now every time on extreme games it seems to "lag" me out, despite me having plenty of bandwith (8mb) left.... ive run a trace and it seems to be packet loss but at a site thats beyond my /my ISP's control anyone any ideas on what i can do?... at MY end im on wireless, my ISP is NTL (virgin) all the packet loss seems to be at this hopone.net place, whatever they are... Hi, having a weird problem.. haven't played SS in a few months and I just noticed I could not set ANY resolutions. All I see is an option to select window mode. I tried advanced settings > show default resolutions and no change. Tried making new profile, tried uninstalling (plus deleting the directory) and reinstalling. Really strange. At first I noticed the problem on Vista, so I thought it was that, then when I went to xp it was there too. Latest monitor drivers are installed correctly (Viewsonic p220f) and I have the latest NVidia drivers with a 7300GS. I often close and reopen Continuum, and I've found that now all the text in my Continuum menu fails to appear for no reason / randomly. I compared the processes in my list in Task Manager in a before and after situation, and found no process that seems to be conflicting or getting Continuum to do this. The text is either there or not there to begin with when I launch Continuum. All my information including zone list is still there, its just the text that isn't loading. I can join zones and stuff fine, and the text ingame is also fine. I don't know what is causing it. http://www.hlrse.net/Qwerty/continuummenu.png

I had gotten a message, I guess, before the biller had their unfortunate problems and now it won't remove.. Every morning when I get on and check my messages, I have the same message from May thats been checked many times.. Is there a command or a specific way I can get this message to be removed? First time this has happened to me... lol

ok im gonna run thru things and remove security programs one at a time, but the problem im encountering seems a lil unique if it is a issue of conflicting with security software. When i run ss, i quickly jump up to almost full cpu usage, the mouse cursor constantly REblinks that is doing work (as in it start the animation, then starts again, and again), and in the task manager processes tab, anywhere from 2-6 continuum processes pop in and out... I got threatfire, spybot, and mccafee running btw. Are spybot or threatfire known to cause problems with ss?

I am using KUbuntu Gusty and WINE .9.57. When I follow the Quick Stars instructions and run Continuum.sh, I get this error message: wine: failed to initialize: /usr/local/lib/wine/ntdll.dll.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directoryI have tried installing the windows continuum with Wine and I get the same effects as running it on windows with antivirus or some other program "Continuum Doesn't Like." Any advice?

Continuum as a portable app

Just curious. What hooks does continuum dig into a particular Windows system during install. I noticed that I can rename the install directory at will, and the game runs fine, so there's nothing in the registry or whatnot tying the executable to a fixed location. But if I move the folder to a thumbdrive and take it to another system where I didn't perform the actual install, the program never starts. (a process never even shows up in process explorer). Thoughts? I know there are some dll's other programs need that are often copied into the system folder, but would be just fine if they also sat in the same folder as the executable. Would this be anything like that…

Have any of you ever experienced this? Its sounds as though my bullet (sometimes bomb) sounds skip. It sounds like iam firing an !@#$%^&*ualt rifle when i am firing the whole time... It does good at the beginning when i first get on then it starts to kick getting worse and worse judging on how many people are on... Sometimes the bullet sounds dont even fire... oh and its only on L3 bullets for some reason. !@#$%^&*ualt like " pop pop pop...... pop pop pop.... when it should be pop pop pop pop.... and so on... What causes that?

Soooo i installed Vista Ultimate again (my xp died for some reason) anyhow i turned UAC off i turned the firewall off i have dep off for programs i have the game running in compatability i have the game running as admin cont will turn on, but it wont load the serverlists, it wont connect to download the server list... and its not just cont my other games like Team Fortress 2 it will load the servers and show me people playing but it wont let me enter the servers... any ideas?? i have no clue at all.. so im hoping u do Polix (or anyone else) id bug you in ss again but well cant go in

Since I did a system recover thingy on my computer I can't get onto Continuum. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it but it doesn't make a difference All the zones load up fine but when I try to conect to one of them the screen goes black, then a green and white box appears which says 'SIGNAL NOT VALID H: 75.09KHZ V:60. 06HZ' ... then the box goes away and the screen stays black (but I think I can here the game going on in the backround) until I press escape which brings me back. Any help please?
