Due to the amount of multiline output my new bot is expected to generate, I want to throttle it's output, but I also want to build a responsible queuing system that allows those who have cause the least spam in the past x seconds priority in the queue over the people who have caused the bot to spam a lot. For example, let's say there's an item listing command that fits on 5 lines. If someone is checking their items multiple times in succession, they'll quickly be the cause of a backlog of messages. Instead of cutting that person off, I just want to give any new messages they generate a low priority so that they aren't slowing the bot down for others. I'm thinking tha…

I've noticed accede is spinning up using 99%+ of the memory, I fear I've introduced a spin/dead lock somewhere. If you find the biller becomes unavailable please let me know and I'll restart the server and/or box. I won't have much time to look into it until later this week (or weekend). I will update this topic with information as I find it out...

DEMO http://subspace2.net/demo2.zip (using server modules and client from my branch in svn) connection is hard coded to www.playsubspace.com port 6000. You can download from svn and play locally if u want Alot of packets not handled at the moment. Uses custom "encryption", that avoids some issues with VIE Encryption. No playability, you can view the map, but it wont show other ships, or anything interactive. pgup/pgdown = zoom Unzip into an empty folder. Check it out, if you can connect to the test zone (www.playsubspace.com port 6000) and download the standard map. You can also connect to this zone using Continuum.

Hi, Myself and Aquarius would like to welcome everyone to the zone . The zone will be used for various projects sponsored by SubSpace Development . Currently the zone will be using Subgame2 and at a latter time we will most likely be offering ASSS development options.(this is an iffy topic windows ASSS hosting sucks for real development.I currently see no reason to open up a linux box at this moment, we shall see.)

Death+ has already setup an ssdev subgame server, but this is not what is staying. He is currently setting up ssdev ASSS. Then I think it will be a good idea to allow any player to ?putmap. We will need a small module that when a player goes into a subarena and types ?myarena, it will ?make the arena and give them ?putmap powers. Unless someone else already owns this arena, it will tell them that someone already owns the arena. Can someone write this?

What I'm getting at is a website with live, or recorded games, such as appealing events, professional leagues, intense duels, ect. I know the ?gamerecord module exists in ASSS, can this be fed to a website, live? While being viewed on a website, is it possible, in any way, to implement an actual gamerecord? At first though here - I doubt this, because I believe gamerecord simply records instances of the game and plays it back. Not in image form - at all. It's only the server recognising what everything was, and projecting it back again. I believe, I may be completely wrong. I had an idea about a really cool bot plugin for merv or even its own bot. I think it would be cool if you could set up missions according to game play. What I mean is like Turf Missions, Flag Missions, CTF missions, or whatever. I don't know how much coding it would take nor am I a coder, but I thought it was worth saying incase someone was bored sometime. Examples: 1. Hold all the flags for 10 minutes and die less then 5 times. (on your on freq/team freq) 2. Get atleast 15 kills without dying. (on a private freq) !list / !accept turf:1 and so on and so on. So I don't know tell me what you think.

I'm trying to design a new settings system (using ASSS). My question is this. Anyone got an idea of how I could do this? Its needs to work in a generic way. definitions: ship - player controlled object (central in screen) npc - computer controlled object. (ie sonething players can interact with) There is no limit (or at least the limit isvery high) to the number of ships/npc. Each object/ship has abilities (e.g. this would be the weapons, repels, rockets, thrust). These abilities can be used on one or more object/ship. Alright well, we all know Armada !@#$%^&*ail as of now sucks. A lot of people don't realize how well it did back in the day, at one point it was up to 40+ a day, and 20+ all the time. First off I need to come out with some new settings, I want something similar to what I got, but needs to work better towards turf, I like turf style and I know a lot of players like it as well, and CTF is getting old. I am gonna come up with a list first for what each ship is actually supposed to do, I was thinking of making ships based on freq, but that takes away from game play I think. Currently, both SSC and Accede allow the e-mail address of a user to be set once. Should user's be allowed the ability to change their e-mail multiple times? Please provide feedback as necessary!
