Continuum Resizer - Download Enhances continuum with support for custom resolutions, mouse aiming, a modern direct2d rendering mode, and a better experience in general. Runs great on Windows Vista, 7 and 8. Requires .NET 4.5 (available here). XP is NOT supported. http://i.imgur.com/2bDsGNi.png http://i.imgur.com/BW0wr.png

Does anybody know if the origional 3d models of the subspace ships are available, or even a recreation? I see that ssdownloads has some "high res images with backdrops" (example: http://www.subspacedownloads.com/files/lrg_javelin.jpg ) that look BEAUTIFUL but I would really love the origional source files or whatever these are rendered from. Basically I want to make a shipset similar to the stock shipset but with some signifigant changes that would most easily be made with modifications to the origional models.

As per Cre>'s request, I finally got around to packaging up logicbot2's source code with the appropriate license. This program is written in C++ and uses several very advanced techniques. If you can only just barely manage a working MERV plugin, this code is definitely not for you. Again, I don't really think anyone will find this source code as a hole very useful. Plenty of people have done the SS protocol in C++ and much better than me. Thier are some interesting C++ tidbits in here, like a working Plugin architecture and an advanced exception handling mechanism that can catch exceptions within the plugins, unload the plugin and write an entire stack dump without cra…

Here is the unfinished source code to SubChat3. It was never completed and as such isnt even an alpha. (aka, its not usable in its current state). However, thier is a lot of very nifty C# code in this archive, and im hoping some aspiring C# coder will be able to make use of some of it. Unfortunately because of the way the world works I find myself compelled to license this as GPLv3, please respect the license. I wish I could post it without any license at all but such are the times we live in. Officially, Freakmonger was given this source code to make SubChat3 complete, and officially I still consider him the head of the project. But to the best of my knowledge he has n…

The jcnlib downloads are below. Due to the various limitations of posting files on a forum, I will only post the most recent version. Previous versions are archived and available upon request. Which download is right for me? The jcnlib release package contains everything you need to get started: Java 6 compatible binaries, source, api documentation and the SampleBot tutorial. The jcnlib source package only contains the source. Recommended for advanced users only. Downloads Downloads have moved to http://www.cericlabs...projects/jcnlib

Ok, so your server isn't working or is on the fritz, and your rather new to this stuff. Where do you get the help? Thankfully, you have 2 choices on where. If you are already Registered on these forums, and not keen on registering at another, or would rather just stay here, you can check out our General Development Forum where many users are Zone/Server Ops or staff, and have some common knowledge of issues. Now they may not be able to help with every issue, and some may refer you to the Server Help Forums. MineGoBoom's Server Help Forums are the main forums for any server issues. Ranging from Subgame to ASSS to Bots to even new development, these guys cover it all. A…

I am writing a subspace clone in javascript/canvas. I am at the point that I can fly around any .lvl file. I implemented collisions by just using rectangles. Every tile is a rectangle and the player is a rectangle, but it doesn't feel the same as in continuum. Someone knows how continuum does collision detection?

A tileset shaded to produce a isometric, 3d, and 2d look. This tileset does need adjustment and testing. It is uploaded by attached files and now I will give you a tinypic link right here - http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=ohpi79&s=8#.U8905LE1Njg I am honestly eager to hear positive feedback and if your not feeling well, negative feedback.

If subspace was hired, SS would have on the clock paid players who have never had any previous experience of playing before. This would be a limitd sign up. Hopefully it can stretch to 1k players being paid for at least a 1 year experience on this experiment . The pay would be based on hours of gameplay that would be monitered. Once they reach about 200 hours they are let go. Some may stay on a free account, and some may leave the entire game. If subspace was hired for a year whether we lose some or gain some we will always gain word of mouth players. We could be as big as star trek or star wars. All we have to do is come up with a SUBSPACE CONTINUUM MOVE!

http://www.twitch.tv/weasalss/b/521018303 Someone was saying there were a ton of cosmic rift players who didn't migrate to ss because of the lack of mouse aim. Tinkered a bit, results linked. Sorry for the choppy vid idk how to stream. [edit: better vid] (also can we get the servers back please)

Just letting you all know that you now have access to a log viewer. It makes reading logs easier. No, they aren't saved anywhere. http://trenchwars.org/logviewer

I came across this module I made in 2011 right before I quit working on ASSS. Maybe someone will find it interesting. It is an RPC (function calls over a socket) module that lets you write bots/modules. The intention is that you run your thrift application on the same machine as the server. It supports java, c++, c#, python, php, perl and node.js. If your application crashes, the module will try to clean up after you and ASSS should remain stable. It also demonstrates how you can make C++ modules for ASSS. http://welcome-to-the-machine.com/ss/asss-thrift-517.zip

When writing a biller, should I support udp or tcp? Iirc subgame only supports udp and asss supports tcp. Does asss supports udp? For the people who are intrested, I am going to write it in go and another implementation in haskell. Btw what happened to subspace? Almost no1 plays it anymore :s. I remember having like 600 people in trench and 200 in dsb...

Over these few years I have been coming back to check how progress has been. What happened to all these developments? I have only seen phoenix moving forward but was hoping for something that was subspace or at least a remake. (Not saying phoenix is bad, It looks great would not mind beta-testing) I was really psyched that someone was actually working on subspace2. I have no place to ask what had happened to this project since I have no knowledge in coding but would just like to know where it has stopped or what has been completed.

I didn't like the idea that ASSS's ChatNet protocol is raw text (including passwords). So I've been working on updating ASSS's ChatNet module. The features I'm working on are: SSL encryption [DONE]WebSocket support [DONE]Required Biller Login (ie. logins will be denied if the billing connection has been lost) [DONE]1 shot HTTP credential verification [SKIPPED]Rigorous testing of the new features/code [COULD ALWAYS USE MORE ] When I finish, I'm hoping ASSS will accept my changes otherwise I can provide the module in binary/source form. With WebSocket w/ TLS encryption (WSS) I'm hoping to create an HTML5 SS web-chat site that connects directly to an ASSS-enabled zone …

SERVER SIDE AI BOTS After a few weeks of careful consideration, I have decided to pubicly release the source code for my fake player platform for an ASSS server. The reason for this is that I have basically turned into another Dr Brain, in that I have been wanting to create a "turret defense" style zone, league of legends style, for about the past 2 or 3 years. However, this game is decaying, and I can no longer forsee having any free time in at least the next half decade. I have always intended to release this, as I have wanted to see what other people can do with it, and hopefully they can do some things I would never have thought of. I also want to release this…

http://subspace.legendzones.com/ Does anyone know who runs this site/server? I've found a serious security flaw in which myself or some other individual could take full control of that entire server. I'm surprised this issue has never been exploited/seen before given the length of time that site has been around. Does anyone have any contact details for them?, I have contacted "Ace." but no response yet, and no other details on the site.

News March 12, 2013 - Version 1.2 This may be the next to last update. I am starting to run out of ideas that would be practical for it. Source Code Release: I am going to release the code as is. You will probably need to understand java at least at an intermediate level if you want to tinker with the source a bit. I talk a little more about the source down below in the "Source Code" section. Updates: Added and polished some features, added a couple set of preferences. February 1, 2013 - Version 1.13 I should probably have waited to release the next version, but I had totally forgotten about a (small) couple of features available in the original chat client, they h…

Hi all, I've started writing a Pidgin plugin that can connect to ASSS/ChatNet intended to be used with an SSC ASSS zone like Hyperspace so you can chat to TW, etc. My main motivation from writing this plugin is to help me become a little more available/active in my TW league squad and hopefully for aswz if it can be revived . I'm hoping it'll be useful to other people too, should I complete it. So far the code is a complete mess as I've started with the IRC plugin and rewrote/ripped out functionality I didn't need as I go along due to the poor documentation for writing pidgin plugins. After about 2 days of coding, it can connect and send/receive priv messages, but…

Does anyone know how I would go about creating an updated Continuum installer to weed out the default zones list? Currently, if you install Continuum on a fresh copy of Windows - Trench Wars (for example) is not even listed....among other zones. It's just a ton of red zones. The default directory server needs to be ssdir.playsubspace.com as this is the directory server that contains ALL the zones. the sscuservers directory server is extremely out-dated. Also, who do I contact to update the installer at getcontinuum.com? Anyone know? Thanks guys!

Hi all, I've created an active working site for subspacedownloads.com as it seems the original has ceased to function. Right now the copy is located at: http://project.cipherdesign.co.uk/ssdl/. Most files that I could recover, including the relating file previews (ripped from http://archive.org/web/web.php) are back up and running. All it needs now is a better domain name

New client 1 2 3

So I am officially declaring my intention to create a new client. My reasoning for this is that this game has been abandoned by its creator, and the sscouncil is forced to do things like vpn tunneling to add new clients, and the server software is limited, and the limits of subgame have been reached and surpassed, limiting development. By releasing a new client, I hope to force a new transition to ASSS, while still being able to connect to subgame zones, and to release the stranglehold that priit has on the game, and release it to the community. My focus is to produce an exact duplicate of the current client and all servers before adding any new features. Additionally…
