When I'm making maps, I always have trouble making nice circles. Could you add a tool where you set the center of a circle first and then define the radius? Would make it a lot easier for me to make circles (bit quicker too).

Due to recent complaints about slowness i recompiled DCME with all boundary checks and floating point error checks off in the compile options. This can give a huge boost in speed (with my particle engine i went from 800ms --> 100ms), especially with a lot of floating point calculations and arrays (the latter especially in DCME). Note though, that when it crashes now, it'll crash good. Windows XP handles still handles it pretty well, throws Access Violations and with the error send report thing. But for win95/98/Me users, any error will result in a BSOD. Luckily most of the methods are surrounded by error checks, so that won't hopefully occur (but hey, theres always…

Is SSME still available? Why isn't it used anymore, at Chaos they're telling me that's what I need to create a suitable map there. Are they behind the times? (sigh) TRP

I installed the Bug Tracker mod to these forums, primarily for dev groups. Can post bugs, features, etc. and track/reply to them. If you want to try it out, lemme know. I'm not sure how useful it'll be, but I'd like to give it a try and see if it does any good or shows any use, so lemme know.

I have a question on DCME - how do you create gates that open and close?

I'm taking a break on development now... way too busy irl... I won't be making new stuff before a while, but if you notice something that is broken, I might fix it. (LVZ manager's 'delete' buttons might not refresh the objects list correctly... just click on tabs to fix that, it'll rebuild the whole tree... I think 3.1.3 has that partially fixed... haven't heard anyone complain about that yet, so I guess it's not too urgent )

I tried installing DCME on my usb device @ school. BUT when i did, alot of actions i do makes DCME crash. Saving/Save As: 53 File not found. Updating: Run-time error '429': ActiveX component can't creat object. Closing DCME: Run-time error '53': File not found. And the first time it even gave me an error when i clicked options->preferences. Probebly some people with problems have it becouse they dont have administrator rights or they have it installed on a usb device. I duno which of the 2 couses it becouse ive had problems with running applications on a USB device before but i guess its the fact you dont have admin rights.

Is diagonals walls really a possibility? I thought that would need continuum to be updated for that to happen first. Sketter

So what i'm asking is to designate the boxes in group like how in game continuum mini map shows arena coords like G4 or D7 and such, separated by grid lines. I do notice that you can custom up the grids in perfs, but if there was a default setting that shows the separation between the arenas that would be cool, or a new setting grid setting to trigger it off and on. Thanks. Sketter

So 3.0 version is now released... Enjoy! Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. And if you find any bugs, please tell us instead of throwing away the program I updated the topic on MGB's forum with new version. I also messaged Bajan about uploading it on www.subspacedownloads.com... because the file is larger than the standard max file size in the file submission form. This update is especially important because of the auto-update server moved. That means someone downloading an older version in a couple of months might be unable to update. Keep your Auto-update setting on, updates will keep coming in

If you get an error message 'File already exists' when updating DCME, set your folder options to enable viewing hidden files, and delete any files named DCMEbackup######.exe in your DCME folder. That should fix it... You might get this if you update twice or something... will be fixed in 3.1.1

Just uploaded some changes to the source... and we just hit revision 500 on source control Considering dcme has been on source control for almost a year (since march 28th 2006), that's more than one update per day... I added hourgl!@#$%^&* cursors to a couple of long operations, if you care to know what I did... Also fixed: While a new map is loading, hit its [X] icon... it will kind of close it... but leave an unnamed map form opened, and it screwed up a couple of things nothing major... gotta sleep now... lol... just found this: ... it seems that idea had been forgotten... until just now

I've read some stuff about compatibility of vb6 programs under vista, and it *should* work, but DCME sometimes relies heavily on API calls that might have changed a bit with the new layer system of vista, so there could be a few problems along the road. Anyone that has vista running care to try DCME ?

Freehand selection... I couldn't stand that MsPaint had a feature we did not have, so I made that... It owns Here's an example of using it... And to remember people about the Picture to map feature too Import this image in map with Picture to Map... You get this: Roughly cut out what you want: Zoom in to cut out unneeded part more accurately... and you get this: 3.1 also includes a few other things: Importing custom ship graphics in LVZ will change the TestMap ship graphics LVZ manager shows preview of Continuum's animations when you import a custom graphic Fixed bug in bucketfill that could crash DCME when used in selection Fixed bug in polyline that…

You can install the VB6 runtime files here. Alternatively, you can download the files individually and place them manually: The attached files go in your C:\Windows\system32 folder. MSVBVM60.DLL is safe for replacement (should it not already exist), but MSINET.OCX file should only be updated if it's newer than the existing one (check by right clicking on the file and going to properties then clicking the "version" tab). Same goes for MSCOMCTL.ocx. Zlib.dll is included with updates, but in case you need it, it should go in your DCME folder. If you do not have permission to write or overwrite files in system32 folder, you can place it in your DCME folder too, it shoul…

Could you add a settings editor like SubSet is. Just and extra link in edit->settings or something like that. Then i think you need to start renaming it to DCFE (Drakes Continuum File Editor)

So with lvz's, we can quite a few things saved for each map now... -lvl file -lvz files --extracted files of each lvzs -cfg file So how should these be saved? Vote for what you'd prefer, or suggest another way, and it will probably be possible to specify that in the preferences... The most voted will probably be default though. I guess this will be for 3.1

Holy !@#$%^&*, this is really weird. I think I used to have SubSet installed, and I uninstalled it, and now DCME is trying to re-install it. Wtf? Does DCME use Subset or something, and it wants it back? I don't get it. Basically, when I doubleclick DCME.exe, the process for dcme comes up, and then Subset tries to install. I can't close the installer for SubSet, and the install is never successful, and when I cancel it, it just starts another one. I have to end the DCME process for this to stop. O_o
