Hey, i'm having a small problem, that when I make a new tile-set, I can load it into DCME and it seems to work fine - but when I close DCME and try to re-open it again it says "C:\...\NewTileSet.lvl may be corrupted. Do you wish to attempt recovering data?" - I click "Yes" and it will retrieve the tile locations, and what tiles were laid, but they will be blank. I can then re-load a tile-set over this, and it will seem to work find, but again corrupt when I save. It is also corrupted when I load it into the game. (Visit newtileset in SSCI Dragonball Z to see) - it seems to have some tiles, but the rest are static. Here is the DCME.log file for the session: Spoiler! -…

OK what I was trying to do: I was trying to copy part of a tile to another tile to save some time, I openned the EDIT TILE on one tile, selected an area then clicked copy. Closed the EDIT TILE, then oppened it for another tile. Clicked pasted and the total program crashed with error message.... Rune-time error '9' Subscript out of range.

Warps you from 512 512 to 323 543 or anything 4)invisble radar. go under the block you are invisisible on radar 5) Strong Point . I'm using Version 3.1.0.10. Just curious, does anyone else experience the "Save as SSME compatible" function not working? Which leads me to my next question... I sometimes notice imperfections in the circle tiling function. For example, the top left quarter of the circle wouldn't necessarily be symmetrical with the bottom right. So it get's really hard to tweak a section, copy, then rotate to get an equally proportioned circle. I hope I'm being clear enough the way I said that. That's really the only reason I would need to have my maps saved as SSME compatible files. Additionally, I was wondering how to disable the tile coordinates. Sometimes they get in the…

Adding image files in lvzs should automatically add an image definition now .......bleh im getting major bugs now... try at your own risk I'm getting File not found error when saving a map with a lvz I fixed the flickering of the layer / display mode comboboxes, but now the default value doesnt appear at first Try that

Howdy.. I need some help with lvz in DCME, I used to use CLT for lvz work but for some reason it refuses to open tilesets so can't accurately place images, but in DCME I can't work out how to put a lvz in. I do: Edit>lvz Manager>New lvz>Add item... then get stuck there as it wont let me add or edit anything in the IMAGES / MAP OBJECTS / SCREEN OBJECTS tabs.. I tried exporting it and saving it, but then it doesnt show up as selectable on the lvz placer.. I've got till friday to get this sorted please help!! Also, no help file?

Yeah I got a small (big I dunno) problem. Since I have been loyal to dcme and I love to use it atm I really need some help. So yeah the problem is that when I open a map it looks ok until I zoom all out it's all black. Same with full view radar. I can still work with it and all and it works but then there is another problem with my map that i have never had before. When I open my map (sbcity) it gives me annoying error and I can't do anything to it. If I open it with other program let's say CLT it works fine there so im suspecting that it's on my computer. My account will be gone in a few days, so i'm taking everything thats still up off. This also means that the dcmeupdate.txt will be gone, which older versions with the update system relied on. If you still use an old version, you can download it from the sticky in this subforum or from www.subspacedownloads.com. Any newer versions (since errrrr 3.0 i think, sama changed it, he'll know) won't be affected since the update link refers to dcme.sscentral.

Hi, I'm a fairly new DCME user, and I like what I see, but there are two major things stopping me from adopting it, and both relate to eLVL stuff. The first is that drawing regions is very !@#$%^&*bersome. Selecting a region, going into the region dialog, then choosing create region from selection is a pain. I don't see an easy way to modify the selection later on, either (I may have missed it). A better (IMO) approach would be to have the user able to create a region, and then have the region show up in the tileset dialog. One could then use all the existing paint tools with the region. Maybe a "region mode" would make it easier to coexist with tiles. My second…

Sub DestroyMap(id) '......... Set Maps(id) = Nothing loadedmaps(id) = False '......... How about Unload Maps(id) before that? ... that might help. There are a few other forms that aren't unloaded correctly when the program ends too... edit: all fixed (i think) well it's a cheap patching for now, but everything unloads. Some stuff should be unloaded way before that though Oh, and drake and me discussed some ways of making the selection MUUUUUUUUUUUCH faster... I wouldn't be surprised if it's 5 to 10 times faster. So emm yeah... good stuff coming Just gotta finish pimping the whole tileset/lvz images thing

i know how you guys like to make your stuff perfect, so il help you out, heres a little error i found (an anoying one) i went to add text, text was added just fine, then i went to selection tool, tried to move it and got this repetive error now everytime i click on an item to use it, it gives me that error. The error changes for each 'tool' i select and then click backinto the work window (the only thing that changes is 'class module pencil' or 'class module line' (excetera) was fun^_^ fix plx (ssme would never have givven me this error )

well 1.) 'save as ssme compatable does NOT work. [it saves it .. but i go to open in ssme and it says 'tile ID out of range'. i asume it doesnt actualy save it as ssme compatable ] 2.) zoom out issue's when tring to delete a large portion of tile (ex. a line from 1,1 to 1000,1000 ) it lags like crazy.. (ssme does not have this problem and runs more streamline) 3.) possible to have the entire screen for the map portion like in ssme with a floating tile box (would make it alot better) 4.) same as number 3 but with the radar (number 1 is my main issue. however if 2-4 are fixed, id have no reason not to use dcme..)

would this be better ? when tiletext is selected, and the user double clicks on a tile, it pops up a small window with a textbox to enter the key, the offs-> button means all following letters are in following order or maybe just a textbox the size of a tile so it fits in the tileset ?

I just wanted to know what info is inside of a lvl file. How is the tile location and type stored? and could you show a small example? BTW awesome work on editor. Ive linked your site to many ss'ers.

"Add item" does not remember last directory properly. It takes me 1 level up if I select multiple files, it seems. If I open 1 file, it seems to remember fine. "Add item" does absolutely nothing with a large number of files (I'm trying to add 200 files but anything over 10 cause it to crap out - seems to be realted to filename-length - if I select long named files, I can load less).

Can you add *.elvl type to both open and save (might as well add to the file/s!@#$%^&* !@#$%^&*ociation too). Also add All Files type to all the Save As dialogs, although I'm not sure if that will do much. Currently (319) if you save a map as moo.blah it actually saves as moo.blah.lvl.

Keeping this short and sweet... I think it would be nice if when we click on "file>open", in the open box, when you click once on a map, you get a preview of the map. Similar to the one used in Adobe Photoshop Open box. When you click on an image there, you get a preview of what the image looks like under the box. For those that have many maps to look though, and instead of opening and closing every map, i think this would be an excellent future...at lest it would have been very usefall for me today... Well hope yo find this to be interesting enough to consider. Sketter PS. DCME rules!
