should it be removed? The pencil with tile 0 does the exact same thing as the eraser (eraser actually calls the method of pencil with tile 0).

Download and extract this file in your DCME directory or in your C:\Windows\System32 directory if you receive an error message saying it is needed. msinet.ocx: Needed to download any updates. Note that this file is included with the installer provided here. MSINET_ocx.zip

Now that widths of tools are fully customizable up to 64, which quick widths would you like to see ? I mean, the widths that are most used to hotswap to them by the click of a button instead of dragging it to the wanted value on the slider. 1,2,4 maybe? (I don't know, i never make a map)

Would it be possible that when I save my MapA.lvl that its walltiles that I also have saved as MapATiles.(whatever the extension is), and then reload MapA.lvl, it would also reload the walltiles that were saved with it? It gets bothersome to open different maps and manually having to load the walltile files for each map. :X Maybe DCME could store map walltile history data so that when you open MapA.lvl it will look back in its history log to see what walltile file you were using when you saved the map last.

normally i don't post about stuff that i have optimized, i only mention it in the changes list of the new version, but i think this is worth mentioning. The algorithm that i have now is a whooping 85% faster than it first was, on line width = 20. I must say that's pretty impressive And i think the new algorithm is even faster for bigger width, as i was able to decrease the complexity of the old one ( O(n²) ) to O(n) in the new one ( O(n*n/2) to O(n*4) to be exact )

i just fixed something on your replace brush... you were using something like: for i = - width \ 2 to width \ 2 [blah] next like we used in several other places... but there is a problem with it rounding up weird on odd numbers... so the way to do it from now on would be this: offset = (width-1) \ 2 startx = startx - offset starty = starty - offset endx = endx - offset endy = endy - offset for i = 0 to width [blah] next that way, we make sure the size is correct, and the same offset is applied to all coordinates

Due to a bug is the file that'll be downloaded not executed. You can check for updates, but you'll have to execute the downloaded exe manually. Note that the file is probably set to hidden, so you might have to change your folder options to see it and execute it. This bug is fixed from now on. v1.2.7Fixed problems with Tileset & Tile Editor Added more tools to tile editor (selection, airbrush, undo/redo,...) Added zoom in/out toolbar buttons in frmGeneral Added a new tool: Replace Brush Bookmarks are now visible through their menu Fixed update problem The file is also available for download in the sticky topic above

Hm, if you have any suggestions on how to improve the interface of the tileset editor... it's the place to do so (Tileset Editor should be available in next update, whenever Drake compiles and makes it available) What I done so far: - Load a source image, select tiles in it, drag them with right-mouse on your tileset - You can use a "snap" to place your cursor where you want on your image, but once you start selecting, you can only select 16x16, 16x32... etc. parts, else it wouldnt fit with the tileset - Select tiles on your tileset, drag them around your tileset with right-mouse too What it should also do: - Allow swapped tiles on tileset to be swapped on map after e…

Would it be possible to make it so that it would select the whole map when CTRL A is hit using the selection tool, just like in Photoshop? EDIT :: Nevermind. I just realized that v1.2.68 had a working CTRL A feature. My bad.

If you go edit->edit tileset. And you click "close editor" it gives and error: Run-time error '53'. File no found: 'Default' then click ok and it shuts down DCME. This also happens when you click the cross on top right of the edit tileset window. So you cant return from editing a tileset.

and on Subspace Downloads, v1.07 has reached 799 downloads... so there are like 600 people out there who still have that very old version and did not update... v1.2.3 has 217 downloads there... and v1.2.67 only has 24 there yet keep spreading the word about DCME and if people tell you that they tried it, and hated it, tell them to get the latest version cause they are probably using that old 1.07

msinet is a relatively common control, but vbuzip10 is not something everyone has... at the moment (i.e. with upcoming version), it is very easy for users to get the missing components without even having to search for it. But would supplying them directly be better? atleast for these 2 components, because by combining these 2, we are able to provide additional files very easily if needed... msinet would download the file, and vbuzip would install it right away

Ok, we want to make it so when you get an update, you can have it automatically unzipped and restarted so you immediatly get to use the latest version I was trying to use the s!@#$%^&* command for winzip to extract it , but after 15 minutes, I noticed I don't even have winZip... (I use WinRAR) So it would need to find the program to use in the registry... but does all the s!@#$%^&* commands in zip/unzip utilies are the same? probably not... bleh I suck at these s!@#$%^&* things *cries*

1.2.67frmGeneral's caption now indicates version Fixed bug with switching / replacing walltiles on edge of map Fixed grid problem at high res Fixed small bug with magic wand (select and drag an area immediately without releasing mouse button didn't call sel.MouseDown, screwing up the move coordinates) Added .gif and .jpg to the default filter of the "Import Source Image" dialog of the Tileset Editor

* I asterbrushed some 'roids (one sweep). Did undo and still had myself 30 roids. Only the big ones, though. * Also, the small roids are exactly the same, so why bother even having two options. * Bad label - fixed * Delete with delete key after using magic wand -> undo does nothing.

I want to say THANK YOU for making this editor. It made some aspects of tiling and mapping incredibly easier to tolerate than the other editors I was using. SSCX Extreme Games is now using a map I was working on. Without DCME, the map would probably be unfinished at this point in time, and the tiling would look more repe!@#$%^&*ive/crappy. So thanks so much for your effort with DCME.

well i finally came around with the tools toolbar, where specific options for the tools go into. I had to make the toolbars a bit more customizable first. I added the asteroid brush as an option for the airbrush, else the toolbars wouldn't be used. As sama keeps working on the tileset editor, i thought i just released another small version update with this new feature, and a couple of minor bug fixes. 1.2.64Added Tool Toolbars Toolbars can be hidden/shown with right click on the toolbars or from the menu Fixed delete selection menu Added asteroid brush (accessable from the airbrush toolbar)

When you paint with this tool, it would pepper an area randomly with asteroids, randomly choosing spacing between asteroids and the type/size of asteroid. Basically, you'd choose the tool, select the diameter that you'd like the asteroids to be in, perhaps allow for favor of one asteroid size over another, select the average space between asteroids, and start painting. This would rock (pun-intended).

ok, that part made dcme crash when searching for update. For i = LBound(lines) To UBound(lines) Dim parts() As String parts() = Split(lines(i), "=") If parts(0) = "version" Then version = parts(1) ElseIf parts(0) = "url" Then updateurl = parts(1) ElseIf parts(0) = "changes" Then changes = parts(1) changes = replace(changes, "~", vbNewLine) End If Next The If parts(0) = "version" Then line gave me an out of range error it did the 'for - next' loop correctly for the first 3 values (version, url, and changes), but it did the loop a 4th time, and crashed when trying to read parts(0). I had to change that line: For i = LBound(lines) To UBound(lines) to…

changes since 1.2.62: 1.2.63:Switch/Replace now works with WallTiles Possibility to Redraw or not walltiles when using 'Replace' Using bucket to fill walltiles in a selection doesn't attach them to map tiles outside selection anymore New "Delete selection" menu item ('DEL' key also works with any tool when a selection is active) Fixed small bug about dropper and walltiles Fixed pencil drawing in selection Fixed crash when check for updates was called if form was already loaded Added more icons Fixed distortions and grid problems on high res Tileset Editor works (still beta for now)

at a high resolution the grid isn't synced with the map anymore, it always stays on the same position, regardless if you move the map. If you shrink DCME window a bit until its smaller it will work correctly. This also causes the distortions when moving the map at high res (because part of the grid that is not redrawn is moved correctly, while the part that is redrawn is drawn on the wrong place To be exact, when the map contains more than 5 blocks of 51 tiles
