The repository is located at https://dcme.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/dcme Use a SVN program (like TortoiseSVN) to get the latest source from it. The source is in Visual Basic 6.0, so you'll need Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 to compile it. Write access requires a password. Im trying to edit some tiles but when i click on a tile and click edit... i just get the message shown below. I've closed the program and re-tried. Ive tried many dif tilesets and they all say the same thing. I cant even switch tiles... nothing happens lol. Any ideas? http://i.imgur.com/e5kkWlA.png

I've noticed this for a while, just wasn't sure why or what this even is: When ever I run DCME I get this: http://subspace.net/drake_hp.png No matter if I let it load (which it may never completely do, because it attempts to do it multiple times) or press cancel (multiple times) DCME still runs, and seems to be okay, although I haven't used it much on this computer. So, obviously I'm using an HP computer. And I'm running on windows 7. Any info would be great!

I currently don't have access to the minegoboom forums, and wanted to ask how to alter an existing tileset. I would like to swap 2 tiles, so that the "goal" tiles on the map are all replaced with a new, similar .gif. I need to know, assuming it is possible, how to swap the tiles, and how to create a tile which I can load into the existing tileset. Open #boss.lvl , import PsyBoss1.lvz, save lvl and lvz, exit. Once you get back into it, it gives an elvl error. and some tiles out of range or something. Hope this helps, and I would like a fix =). Drake-Bug.zip

okay so whenever I try and save tiles after I edit them or change a particular tile I dont like I get some gay ass error, saying the tiles are to big...then I noticed a big black gap on the right and bottom side...http://i52.tinypic.com/14kbbxl.jpg

Add a "Save as BMP/PNG" option in the menu, where it would save a picture of the entire map at 1:1 ratio or 100% zoom (each tile would be 16x16). PS. Please make more updates to DCME, rather than just do Discretion-only. DCME is a great universal tool.

Available here I wanted to do some quick touchups on DCME for a while now, and I just did. I would like some feedback on this release, to be sure I didn't mess up something that was working before while trying to fix the code because of the SVN repository being lost. What's new: -rNRA (No receive antiwarp) and rNRW (No receive weapons) region attributes are now supported (Requires ASSS 1.5.0+) -Map screenshot tool (File -> Save Full Radar View) saves an area of a map in 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 or 1:16 zoom -Installation made easier (especially on Vista/Win7) with a .bat file script that registers the required dll and ocx files. I was about to try to update a few things in DCME, when I noticed opensvn.csie.org shut down in May... Kind of lucky I have the full source on my hard drive despite a few reformats and hard drive swaps. Gonna move the thing on Sourceforge I guess.

I made a simple batch file that registers or unregisters the DLL and OCX files. I packaged this and added it to the downloads section. This should make installation much smoother, especially for Vista/7 users. The scripts have to be ran as administrator. Edit: As of September 2025, this is now outdated, as the latest 3.5 version features an actual installer that should make the process easier up to Windows 11.

Try and resize the contents of the attachment to 1023x1023 (or 1024x1024). I want the contents to take up 100% of the map width and height. Problems: 1) Resizing issues = self-evident 2) Even if I set it to "clear 1 thickness" or whatever, it still changes the thickness of walls upon resizing a square map to a larger size I just want to make it take up 100% of the size with the thickness of walls unchanged (length or magnitude should change accordingly). custom101_resize.lvl

The map is basically a composition of pixels (pixel being a tile in this metaphor). This feature would have a list of different filters -- like in Photoshop and most image editing programs -- such as warp, twist, wind, etcetera. However, it would only consist of basic filters, as our "map" would technically be consisting of two colors (black and white) and wouldn't really be compatible with filters like Gaussian blur. You would be able to apply filters to either (1) entire map or (2) selection.

What it would do is remove the borders and loop the map. If you went to the right side of the map, the map would start looping from the left side (radar would only show the red box to indicate area viewed split up -- would shown on left and right side). If you went to the bottom right corner of the map, you would see every corner of the map loop over. You would be able to scroll in either direction indefinitely. You would also be able to toggle whether or not Tile 1 (or the tile directly underneath it) is shown or omitted from the loop; this is the border tile and it might help to be able to make this column/row of tiles be a toggle as to whether the mapper wants it…

The purpose would be to open Subspace map editing into a new world of real-time collaboration and editing. I believe I have suggested this feature before, and that it would require complete recoding of DCME for anything to matter. But anyway: There would be a server and client version. Server version could function as a client too, and would also have a built-in command-line for those that do not want have the GUI/client-mode enabled on themselves and resource-reasons. Then we could make circles, squares, rectangles, ovals, and just whatever we want that looks exactly like Trench War's asteroid belt. Should be able to set a width, whether the pattern is constant from "start to finish" or varies for every block (If it is constant, chances are someone will be able to look at it and quickly detect that the "randomness" of the asteroids repeats in each block), and what tile (if any -- user specifiable) is used to keep ships of 1x1 tile size or smaller from passing through the asteroid belt to the other side. ^_^ EDIT: TW-style asteroid belt is the main purpose, but perhaps this can also be extended to "specified tile" as well.
