A while back, Hyperspace lost private teams because of the issue with 3- or 4-way flag games. Such flag games are simply too chaotic, and lead to one of two results: 1. The first team to get all of the flags defends the base for free because the other two or three teams are too busy killing each other. 2. Entire teams quit, and they either merge in with the rest of the players (Still, a minimum of three teams if the private team is still on defense), or they just plain rage quit. Hyperspace went from being a competitive zone to being a newb-friendly zone. We need both, but they need to be in harmony with each other. Eventually, duel boxes will be introduced to the p…

Well as some of you know I have been saving literally every bit of HSD I make to pay for some good old bracket dueling. It will be free to play. Prizes for everyone. It will be 5 by 2 warbird or javelin. All competetors will be prized by me.... First round: 50k winner 10k loser Second round: 100k Winner 15k loser Final round 250k winner 20k losser. The same team has been winning flag game after flag game for the past three hours with almost no opposition. Please just put both teams into spec after one or two, or even three wins. This is just ridiculous. You guys talk about how you want this zone to be more "newb friendly" and easier to get into, but one stacked team winning 15 flag games in a row is anything but "newb friendly."

Say what? I started work on hyperspace conquest about 6 months ago. Conquest is the gameplay element you see in games like Battlefield 1942 and Star Wars Battlefront. I've not personally seen this in SS, but wouldn't be surprised if other zones have done it in subarenas. What is conquest? There are two teams fighting for control of various command points scattered around the map. Games I've played typically have between 4 and 8 control points on the map. so i got bored and threw together a new duel arena in 5 minutes or so it is far superior to boxduel in every way. however, i think the box is currently too big, which puts bouncing weapons at a disadvantage. after that i was still bored and made a duelbot as well in an hour or 2. it has basic anticheating countermeasures, and the duel money is held in escrow for the duration of the duel, so now people can use the bot as an arbiter for duel money, so now noone has to deal with shady characters any longer. enjoy

HS is a tough zone to learn due to all the new commands and the sheer number of items available. It takes hours and hours to acquaint oneself with the itemset - partly due to its extensive nature and moreso due to exp requirements. I think our system can use some additions and streamlining that will encourage more people to come and stay. The idea is to simplify features and itemset to encourage, rather than limit, build experimentation. In regards to flagging: - Automatically place warbird and javelin on new accounts. Yesterday, all ships, items, money and experience were reset. This reset, all money and experience gains are doubled. This is mainly because this reset might end up a little shorter than previous ones*. The extra money and experience might also come in handy for a public new item set beta test*. *) Might not actually be true. Real life has this habit of consuming far too much free time. I sure hope it'll be true, though.

The initial keyboard setup for subspace was made for those old huge 101 key keyboards. Todays keyboards are not normally set up the same. I play ss mostly on a laptop which has keys all over the place and no breaks between f-keys. After trying the default way for a while i decided to remap my keyboard. I found it to be much more comfortable on the wrists and easier to play. In your subspace profile screen there are 3 buttons below the window option. Zones, Macros and Key Defs. fields have always had a history of abuse, so maybe its time for them to be reengineered firstly, what if each ship had a field generator without buying one, and there was a ?buy fields category when a field enters, it would be named , since there could only be one per player out at maximum. they would not have to buy a field, they would not have to waste their time flying to b8, the most boring thing ever. instead, they would have a delay with a certain amount of randomness set by the field items they had purchased, such as fielddelay -100 or something. delay would be very long, > 5 mins, since everyone would have one players could choose from positive effects for…

I dont like bases where there are doorways that are the same width as a lanc. When lancing i first try to let my team keep me alive, if that is not working i shoot, if that is not working i run. The bases with the tiny doors trap me and i cant run. Please make doorways at least 1 lanc + 1 shark wide.

I propose a new ?antiturret command. The player with a lanc could type ?antiturret to toggle the antiturret flag, when set make attaching to thier lanc the same as attaching to a spider where attaching ships are deployed but never actually turret. I am tired of kicking people off and saying i am not a tank, and dont ride me. The other day i was doing a rush and got a turret at a bad time, could not negoiate a corner and died. not sure if rush would have been successful or not but was a downer that it died because i could not round the corner.

Today in hyperspace there is no way to find out if your ship is maxed out or not, or if you are missing an item. I think there should be a ?shipstatus -c that would show you the current capacity of your ship. It would basically be the same thing as ?shipstatus is today but the first and last columns would be reversed and there would be a new max column. Also it would show all types, if you have items or not. ex Item Type | Count | Max | Item Names Supplement | 2 | 2 | Induction Grid, Parallel Relay Gun | 1 | 1 | Pulse Laser Protection | 1 | 1 | Aphasic Plating FTL | 0 | 1 | ??? | 0 | 1 | Signature | 0 | 1 | etc....

Since people have always asked for some kind of (b)log on item changes, I'll post mine here. I'm also open to suggestions posted in this thread (or elsewhere), but please, put some thought into them. We don't need items that significantly blur the lines between several item types (Addons/Armor/etc). Something that adds to build variety without making existing item combinations obsolete is what I'm looking for.
