So we don't want to go to the bad old days of item-spamming, brick Tetris, etc. and we don't like basing as it is now. One of the problems IMO is that without rep whoring, guns and bomblines are overwhelmingly powerful in HS. Here's an idea intended to counter that and to create a unique basing style for HS with greater tactical depth. The spider gets a special armor that absorbs 3/4 of all gun/bomb damage. The armor is a huge recharge drain and slows down speed/thrust. This turns it into a tank that goes to the front of the line and protects teammates behind it from gun/bomb/thor damage. First off let me start off by saying that this will be my first and last post on this forum. noobs:save your !@#$%^&* money and stop spending it on stupid useless items. base base base until you can afford a better ship. base base base some more and eventually you can upgrade your ships and you will be making exp and money a lot easier. it reflects a lot on life for you deep thinkers. suggestions? first off you need an evening bot in your zone, and it would help if it stopped crashing. if your staff didn't abuse it might be a lot better too. and since you were probably going to mention it, UB-Dice is my bot you tools. big ups to all my haters.

New item type: Computer. General idea: Each computer is a specialized possibly-powerful item only available to one or two ships. This is a response to almost every item being available to almost all the ships, making every ship not-so-unique. Also, each minigroup has at least two computers, so there must be a choice. Logged on today, Rareitanium banned me literally for no reason. Anyone know how I get an explanation for this, or get this undone? This is getting a little stupid, as I was banned a few days ago by Arnk Dylie for making an alt called 'Arnk Dylien', logging on and saying 'I admit it, we need to revert this item set' once and immediately logging off. That's all. Somebody's ego bruised a little bit? Anyway, I doubt there are any impartial or fair moderators in Hyperspace that will actually help me out here, so I don't expect much. An explanation, at least, would be cool. I'll even take the inevitable arrogant/condescending answer, if that's all that's available.

I think even the longest base currently in use takes only about 20-30 sec to reach the fr from the entrance (if you are a fairly decent pilot with a fairly decent ship). Would a shorter flag timer make better sense now that the bases are so small?

Um....I seen alot of item suggestions in the other thread but it feels to me that we are still stuck on the good old way items are. Like theres those signature + mount/emit/gun/bomb slots....but why cant/dont we have normal items that takes up 2 different slots? For example: Flak Cannons (or insert some fancy name for Pd 2) Slots: Gun and Bomb bombdelay = 250..or more? Price: 50k or more/less? A pd where it doesnt take up a sig slot but doesnt allow people to rush well with it due to bombdelay not allowing people to item spam and you being not able to shoot anything at all. Disclaimer. Even if one could wrongly assume this is an attack to one's person or the start of a flamewar, it's not. It's just a bunch of my opinions disguised as knock knock - jokes. It's here for entertaiment purposes only. News this week. In his futile fight in trying to make this zone more squadbased, our event coordinator created the Hyperspace Squad Dueling Tournament. This didn't turn out to be as horrible as I had betted, but became quite retarted anyway. I don't know if this has already been shot down or brought up, but I had this idea the other night and it seemed pretty good at least to me. What if there was a way to bet on your skill besides dueling someone for a set amount. Possibly another function for the power ball or flags that you could toggle with ?"command:kills your betting on:money your betting on." I think it would be healthy for HS to have more events hosted. I have a few ideas that wouldn't be hard to implement here and I would be willing to help out wherever needed to get it going. Here are some real simple events that past zones have used before. For instance, we could have a Brick War type event. It would need it's own arena/map. The map would need to be smaller than pub's center to make it harder to hide or run. Anyone could design a good map for this. Everyone is on their own freq Everyone plays the same ship (warbird or jav) with the same settings. I'm just thinking, most of us were happy when flag games could be swapped around really quickly with a speedy brickwarp, or a rush wzl (yes I know brickwarping was on a reset before the weazel rush came out) that could kill an entire team alone. All these ammo complaints, uneven ships, blah blah... Wouldn't it just be better to be on the old system? Nobody complained then, I never lagged... I can barely play now. Has anyone thought of maybe putting ammo depots in the bases? Also make it so you dont lose your bounty when you purchase ammo. The depots could be placed right out side the entrance and then another one in the flag room. Make them non-safe zones so there is no way a lanc can go afk and let people summon back to the flag room etc. This would allow higher bounties for attackers and defenders.

How to theoretically make the teams balanced. The system uses new points you ac!@#$%^&*ulate by winning flag games. This is a hidden statistic eg. you can't see how much Vps do you have, to prevent abuse. When you win you're rewarded with 0-10xp. The xp you get seems to be decided by how many people are playing and how big the jp is. That xp isn't really worth anything, but that system is the base on how to give people value points. You don't really need to understand all these values to see that they're all almost the same. Heat Reaver is Falcon Missile with prox. I think this is very weak in terms of design. Whats the point of promoting squads if private freq is frowned upon? Isn't the whole point of a squad is so they can flag together and benefit? At the moment, you rarely see priv flagging freqs because it's almost impossible with the new bases and 6 people limit. I'm not gonna bother with details but you get the picture.

Alright, as my first real act as the event coordinator of Hyperspace, Hyperspace will be conducting the first ever squad based Dueling Tournament. Just how exactly is this going to be squad based? -Each squad will send out two representatives in the duel tournament. (Note: The only way that your will go up against your teammate will be if both make it to the DT finals). This is unfair, this favors big ships!!! -Since is is going to be the first duel tournament in Hyperspace, we will only be doing small ships, so ships 1/2/8. This evening, I ran a test of the new ?go turf. I played for a while and I felt that it was a lot of fun, but I'd like your feedback here. I'm considering dropping the warzone style flags in the main arena and putting turf in its place. Presuming we can improve the map, of course. I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this.
