The zone is looking good to me I was just thinking about a couple of things that I know noone had time to fix, but my finals are this week and I figured everyone elses are too, so here I go: 1. Hardly anyone is using sharks for basing because they are so restricted in what you can buy. I understand not having sigs on a shark but can we have a little freedom there? 2. With the almost constant FG due to the non-jackpot game, Can we please do away with the no longer useful mini base in center. Then people can either base or center, but not both at the same time. Would it be possible to implement the automatic evening of teams for pub freqs? I used to play powerball quite a bit and they had something similar. The reason I ask is because there is the possibility of 1 team getting up to many people and continually win the flag game, while the other team is pathetically small. So, I was thinking of gettting a little spirit in to hyperpsace. I was thinking like... All greens changed to presents that give you random plus or explode with -500 damage. Base 5 should be a santa, snowman, christmas tree, or even a present box like a labrynth. maybe even a red and green bot that follows people around and shoots exploding blue bombs at players ^could be an autoturret with a changed .gif file for images. Perhaps a mod on a week before christmas or something hosting events (that would be nice for a change ) Any ideas? also, would any mods be interested in doing this? EDIT: is this is wrong forum?

If you guys want. I can make a Christmas event, if i can get a staffer to upload it. for the base it would be hard to defend, but long, and would most likely take up sector 5, if a staff could upload.

1) Lancs should be able to have 2 FTL's Lancs already have 1 FTL but any good lanc would buy Summoner as Their FTL! But when there is an good base game, and a teams lanc(s) dies, sometimes it takes a while for a lanc to get to the base again. Base 4 takes the longest to get to! And Alot of times, there is an annoying newb that will attack/brickwarp the lanc while it is trying to go back to the base. This sometimes results in a team giving up all together, I know! I think that Hyperspace has been suffering lately in population (although, Dr Brains attempts to fix this have really helped. Thanks so much!) Hyperspace (and subspace for that natter) seem to be dying almost every single reset. I am not sure if it is just schooling and that continuum does not advertise (unadvisable) But I think we should really consider breaking "Hyperspaces Golden Rule" and go back a few resets, where making money was easy and the bases rocked. I understand that the bases used to be overpowered for the defenders, but, the new bases are so overpowered for attackers, namely base 7. Well, instead of consisting Fridays and Saturdays for 20 flag basing. Why not make pub 5 people MAX, privs down to 3 and make 32 flags available on these days? each flag gives your freq 10$ a ding for a chance at 320$ for all. As eash enemy team hides or defends flags, another group without flags could attack and defend their current stock of flags. I think this sounds like a fun idea. With the current settings, the winning team tends to win, warp to center and quickly grab all 5 flags, return to the same base, win, rinse, repeat until the other freq dies. The flag games are effectively being won in the first 20 sec. To counter this, I'm suggesting that the number of flags be bumped back up to 20-30, while constraining a single flag carrier to 5-10 flags to keep runwinning under control as originally intended. That gives both teams time to collect a few flags when a new round starts. It also extends the mad scramble for hunting reds, which I think most people find is one of the funner parts of the game.

There are 20 flags. (See http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=22126) Players can carry up to 7 flags at a time (still takes 3 players to win a game from completely neuted). Periodic rewards were adjusted to compensate for more flags. Flag spawn radius increased to allow the possibility of spawning in other sectors. Additionally, Friday evening and all of Saturday will be public frequencies only for as long as staff members with settings access can be bothered to keep it up.

Ok so here are my two brilliant ideas, hopefully you are all in agreement and Dr. Brain implements these today: Ship loans I have more ships than I really need. I'd like to be able to lend one or more of my ships to new players/friends. As Omni pointed out this is very similar to warehouse & hopefully could fit in that project. So I was playing around in my lanc and emit was discussing what would happen to the formula if someone with 0 exp wins. Oddly enough, he did get sKETCH to win, who ha 0 exp. The result? As per http://www.ssforum.net/index.php?showtopic=21799 I have started changing things since the population didn't increase. Guns and bombs no longer consume ammo (though they still require it be present for various technical reasons). Gun and bomb sell prices were raised to their buy price. Ammoless guns and bombs got small energy boosts, since the rest became ammoless. Shrappinger is the exception. Neuts now drop owned. Kill rewards are based solely on experience. Flag rewards are based solely on population and team and enemy experience. No jackpot.
