As hyperspace is on port 5005, I figured this belongs here. Before I was getting lag issues that seemed to make the game impossible, and i figured it was the wireless, and I was wrong. Even on ethernet, I would still get the occasional spike and some packetloss etc all that BS Now I tried forwarding port 5005 on my router and when I do ?lag I get everything PERFECT. It's all 0's except for ping which is very very very very low. So is it something else that solved my lag issue or forwarding my port actually makes HS playable again? PS: for the record I have not spiked once in the past ~12 hours of playing

So I took a bet with Masaru today and ended up having all my exp (which was around 1.3k) degranted. Anyway, soon after, I began spawning with a super weird ship. Check it out here: http://img46.imageshack.us/my.php?image=screenshot36.png Anyway to fix my ship?

I've heard Arnk say that too, but I don't get it at all. You'd get more experimentation, more decisions, and therefore more configurations. People would equip their ships for whatever they felt like doing at the time (thorring, running, tanking, etc.), which leads to counters. I would argue that the current expensive item sale costs tend to drive everyone to the same generic optimally-balanced configs. E.g. every warbird last round had either a sig gun or a sig sublight, and pretty much the same everything else. It also favors rich players, who are less pained about the financial losses from selling items, over casual ones. I'd like to see more wacky experiments, …

Was wondering if you guys ever thought of adding a pub bot to post player stats at the end of every fg. It would be interesting to know how people performed during each game, and would allow a person to compare their performance to others... Thoughts?

why is inertial damper an emitter? it doesnt do anything that would classify it as an emitter... its an addon, why isnt it in that category? in addition, noone that isnt a lanc will buy it. its available to all, which is good, but its really only worth something for lancs. keeping it an emitter will mean noone can get it without sacrificing something like xradar. as a result of this, i cant even think of -1- lanc that has it. Can we please reclassify inertial damper as an addon? this isnt really that big of a request, either

Flagging Bases I think the priority in development for HS, in terms of flagging, is to get better bases. Bases that keep a smooth-flowing game while providing strategy for both teams. Does your own exp effect the amount of money rewarded from other players kill wile you're a lancaster? As in, if you have 1000exp, would you get more money from team kills than if you have 5000exp? Also, is the attachment reward always the same or is it also affected by exp?

Ive had this happen twice on my lanc, and once in my shark (caused me lose flags) /?attach and Im not anywhere close to the lanc. Ive been put in the HT before(lanc), base 5 before(lanc), and in the middle of base 7 surrounded by enemy(shark with flags) Ive talked to those who Ive attached to, and they said they were in those places earlier, by maybe 10 seconds. All 3 times in the past week or so... Told rare about the first one, didnt care about the second, and the 3rd no mods were online.

Okay so was Selling my warbird and after I sold it for 113k (already refunded by Rivel and Rare) the server crashed when I returned to the zone I found that I did not own my warbird anymore, yet I only had 14k in my account. After talking with rivel, rivel brought it up that I had NO ships anymore. I'm missing my nova levi, and my thor weasel. There's three primary events to Hyperspace: Racing in the events arena, Hyperball, and maybe dodge in the events arena. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's a nice range. Base balling to racing. However, a few more events would definitely be useful, probably necessary. The zone could use more events of an even wider range, covering all sorts of aspects. I've wanted to create a CTF event for the zone for a long time, but until a CTF module that is found and that is perfect enough to be applied to the server, we should think about things that can be made with somewhat limited settings and features. mmkay, so I was working on registering a bot with linear-key called UB-Req During the talking to linear-key I accidentally hit . instead of / to talk to him and posted in pub .'rigged' then lin tells me to go back on requiem. so I do so, and I come back online to rare asying hes blacklisted my bot for tlkaing in pub. In the never ending quest to make Brain happy, I came up with an idea that might help with the basing. What if there was a timer that resets after every FG win. Lets say the timer is 15 minutes real time, and only functions if there are 25 people in the zone. When the timer runs out the team with all the flags, or the team with the most flags wins. Basially every 15 minutes there is a FG win regardless of whether the team wants to win or not. You could make it so the win is based on holding more flags than the other team, and there would be a win EVERY 15 minutes. OR, you could make it so the winning team would have to be holding all the flags, which may not happ…

To increase basing and decrease center, I recommend flaggers to be slowed down when they're carrying flags. This forces them to attach to their lanc to drop or be killed by other ships more easily. It'll also create a longer flagging game instead of 10 minute ones. Many people has asked me "What happens if I want to center and accidentally kill a flagger? I don't want to be slowed down" Answer: There will be a ?drop command, which can be activated only in center, which neuts the flag.
