At one point, you guys had a system that shuffled teams after a consecutive win. I thought this was a good idea... why is it no longer used? All too often one freq will dominate the other one fg after the next. It's already frustrating enough that entering mid-game will (likely) place you with the weaker team. The fact that leech/kill money comes slower for experienced players gives us all the less reason to attack on a disadvantaged team. Also wonder why the (S) tag no longer appears next to summon lancs. It's true that almost everyone has summon at this point in the reset... but it would be good to recognize teammates that might not have it.

I am tired of you nerfing items and not telling us. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for improving the balance of the game and I believe that is your goal, but it is ridiculous when tinkerings are made to items we have on ships we use without telling us. Take the WoW approach and announce it in the news by saying "Cluster Bomb's energy has been increased from x to y." If you're opposed to having the news change all the time, display it in a static lvz in the top left corner that everyone can see, or even better yet, write a module that allows you create messages with a predefined lvz alphabet.

Is there a way to make PD attach to your ship faster after detaching from a lanc? I often die quickly as a rusher and my PD doesn't even attach before I am dead.

I am proposing a sort of grassroots movement for players in HS - a massive anti-ragequit pledge. Right now, the zone is suffering in the flag games due to a clear lack of interest in them at this time. This is no wonder. Most flag games yield rewards in about the 5k range. Also, during prime hours you will typically have about 5 people on one team and about 2 on the other. Whenever there are atleast 8 players on both teams, players start hanging around the zone in droves. Clearly, the problem isn't that people aren't interested in flagging. In HS, I see 2 things that are hurting the zone right now.. first is that players will RQ if they lose faith in their team. Second is the zone is quite challenging for new players.. Ive been thinking about ways to expand the gameplay without actually changing the the way the players play the game. During the last time that the biller was down there were a few people that apperently had their aliases saved with the server and could still play normally without the ^ before their name. How do I prepare for this so the next time the biller is down I can still play?

1. I was reading this article. Its focus on "cooperation in large, not-personally-connected-groups" brings to mind a certain spaceship game I like to play. 2. I think a slightly larger stats tracker at the end of a flag game would be really cool with things like total damage dealt, total team damage dealt etc (if possible..) 3. If you combine the two then players on a frequency can make informed decisions on who to punish.. by voting. There would not always have to be a scapegoat and it might be accurate to punish multiple players, also this could lend itself to bullying, but overall I think it would be effective & worth implementing. my $.02

Hi, I've been playing here for a little while now, and lately I've noticed people are sometimes reluctant to be a lanc. I've noticed this most often in smaller games, < 6-8 per side. I don't know why people are reluctant because I've never lanc-ed, but I guess the money and exp-making opportunities are less because lancs often don't get as many kills? So how about rewarding team-player lancs, possibly by: 1. At the end of a flag game, giving lancs a higher winning / losing prize. -Players could abuse this by switching to lancs as the game ends. So only reward those players that have been lancs longer than n minutes. -Or only reward x players that have been lanc…

For those who don't know, during today's reset, an experimental team evener was used. It didn't function, and players were able to hop frequencies freely. The behavior of the players was disturbing. While under such conditions, one can expect a few exploiters. But, in this case virtually the entire losing freq would freq hop to the winning week after the music started (and after the ragequit curtain fell), creating stacked teams as bad as 20 vs 1. Alright, some mistakes I've seen that I'd like to point out. I'm not perfect by all means, so if you've seen me or anyone else do something dumb, point it out, but let's keep this constructive. Not Protecting the Lanc Too often, attacking teams like to rush forward. Rushing on offense is generally a good thing, but if *everybody* rushes past the enemies, those enemies have easy access to the attacking team's lanc and can kill it, then they simply kill the stray rushers. I gonna quit HS and all I want to say is: I had a great time with all of u guys. Even if I or U hate me,, it was a funny time with all of u!!!! I am not starting this thread so that people can tell each other that Brain or Arnk will never let old settings back into HyperSpace. However I am interested in what point in time (describe what the settings were like), would you revert HS back to settings-wise, if you could? Perhaps a few of you would defend the current settings, ok probably not, but just comment on your favorite HS setting. Mine was right before Cyclone was made, which was the beginning of the reset before Arnk created ammo. I don't think I've found this zone anywhere near as fun since.

Obviously there have been a lot of people asking for new bases, so we're going to open this up. If you want your base to be seriously considered for the next round of maps, follow these guidelines. - 15-tile-wide-minimum corridors for the main path, with minimal cover/obstacles unless the corridor is significantly wider. - All walls along the main corridor are three tiles wide minimum, unless the corridor is significantly wider than the minimum. The outside border should be four tiles wide in general. - The flag room is at least 1500 tiles in area not including cover. - There should be at least two instances of alternate paths players can take, these should be 6-8 tiles…

Alright, I'm doing something that will cause some of you heads to explode again. Another strategy guide. I'll be honest, by this point of time, watching some of your meltdowns is actually an amusing end in and of itself. This thread concerns the tactic of 4 or 5 lancasters, each with AD, who rush and attach each other, forcing the other team to kill 25 lancs in order to stop a rush. March 9th, 3 AM -----> HS Population : 3 in game ------> Mav HZ suddenly degranted parasite (only 100 kills left til shell), 50k and was banned for 1 day Only mod on, Cerium. With only 3 people in the game, I was frustrated that I couldn't kill anyone. I typed "FEED MY PARA" and type killed ONE person who was asking me how many more kills I needed. Cerium apparently thought I "abused?" when I clearly did nothing wrong. Plz check the logs, I TYPE KILLED one person, no one was giving me free kills. Check ur facts... Where is the justice?????????

It would be refreshing to play in a different set of bases for once. I'd especially like to see the zone to pull out some of its older maps. Maybe dedicate a day of each week OR week of each month toward an old map? Settings and money need not be changed!!
